CFL West is in search of a APPAREL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – WESTERN HEMISPHERE to join the team in Montebello, CA.
POSITION SUMMARY //
Responsible for the daily communication between the factories, BLT and CFL as well as adherence to the calendar by all parties to assure on time delivery to the customer. Facilitate activities seamlessly between all parties to ensure that these activities are performed on a timely basis.
Fabric – develop a complete understanding of fabrics available in the region and build a library focusing on performance type fabrics. Provide direction to the key mills for any fabric development projects to service the needs of our customers. Coordinate all fabric testing results to meet the customer requirements. Communicate status updates with the customer on a weekly basis.
Testing – Responsible for communicating fabric and garment testing requirements with customer and follow up to monitor status. Advise on any failed testing results to determine the proper course of action to follow.
Lab dips – assure that factory/mill is submitting 3 to 4 options per color to customer for approval and that sample yardage is placed immediately for other sample needs.
Trim – coordinate all trim submits from the factory to the customer to assure that specs meet BOM and complete testing as specified. Work with regional market to development additional trim items that have traditionally been sourced in Asia.
Tech Packs – review all tech packs prior to sending to the factory so that the information is clear and correct.
Fit Samples – schedule fit sample production with the factory sample room and review all fit samples prior to submitting to customer….including workmanship, measurements, general appearance. Discuss any production build challenges with factory and customer.
Strike offs – review all artwork files prior to sending to factory to assure that graphic/placement information is correct and easily downloaded. Review all completed strike offs from the factory prior to sending to customer (graphic placements and measurements, hand feel, etc.).
Submits - communicate all comments from the customer to the factory regarding all submits with a confirmed schedule for any required re-submits. Resolve any issues so that completion target dates are maintained.
TNA charts – update and submit Development and Production TNA charts on a weekly basis. Confirm that factory is meeting all planned event dates so that bulk production is completed on time.
Lead Times – evaluate all lead times and work with factories to improve wherever possible in order to provide fastest service. Work closely with both factory and customer to look for opportunities to improve processes and shorten lead time.
