Job Description

Job Summary:
To create and commercialize premium performance product ensuring it fits and functions for the intended end use through garment fit and construction and is meeting required quality standards through lab and wear testing in accordance with Travis Mathew business goals.

Essential Functions:
• Partner with Designer and Developer to communicate style/size information to the vendor through Tech Packs, providing appropriate block pattern references as needed.
• Work closely with Designer and Developer on the proper selection of blocks and grade rules when creating seasonal styles.
• Collaborate with Product Developer to build premium performance products (function, fit, high quality of needle and workmanship), building relationships and providing technical expertise to internal and external partners through clear and concise communication.
• Take the lead in fitting, working with fit models, to properly execute design’s product vision for fit and function.
• Achieve and maintain proper fit throughout the development process by providing vendor with detailed, image driven fit corrections, referencing vendor patterns, and following “best practices” for pattern shape and balance.
• Research fit trends.
• Lead projects to create innovative and premium performance/lifestyle products; collaborate in wear test and care test selection, execution of samples and tests.
• Support calendar management to hit critical milestones with cross-functional team members.
• Collaborate with Design and Development to identify on-going block development needs.

Job Requirements


• 5-10 years of apparel industry experience in product development and garment fit
• Traveled to and worked on-site with manufacturers across Asia and Americas
• Strong technical knowledge for product manufacturing, evaluating patterns, and revising/building patterns
• Strong team player, knowledge of cross-functional team accountabilities and requirements preferred, including design, materials, sourcing, merchandising, and quality assurance
• Experience in building BOM’s, measurement and technical packages a plus
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Adobe Illustrator, CAD – preferably Gerber, Microsoft office applications and Outlook)
• Knowledge of product creation calendar timeline and able to work against deadlines
