Job Description

Overview:

The HR Generalist is a hands-on role that provides Human Resources support to all associates. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruitment/employment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll administration, employee relations and other HR-related duties (as assigned).

Essential Functions:

o Oversee Recruitment/Hiring Process and New Hire Onboarding
• Manage all internal and external job requisitions: including job posting and applicant screening
• Coordinate interview process; including phone screenings, in-person interviews and reference checks
• Extend/negotiate job offers to candidates
• Coordinate start date details with all applicable internal teams
• Prepare new hire documentation and training, and conduct new associate orientation/onboarding
• Systematically process new hires, and create associate files
• Ensure completion of new hiring training
• Distribute new associate emails
• Distribute and compile on-boarding and introductory period surveys
• Act as point person for new associate questions/needs
o Facilitate Benefits Administration
• Review benefit package options with all eligible associates, and ensure timely benefit enrollment
• Audit benefit feeds to confirm carrier enrollment
• Act as point person for all benefit claims or issues
• Process benefit terminations
• Prepare monthly benefit reports
• Audit and reconcile monthly benefit invoices
• Assist with the implementation of open enrollment
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all Health Care Reform and assist with the implementation of any updates, as needed
o Oversee Payroll Administration
• Compile payroll data such as commission, garnishments, time off, medical and retirement deductions
• Review electronic timeclock data for completeness and accuracy
• Partner with various department supervisors to resolve missed punches or pending to do items
• Analyze, prepare and input payroll data to produce accurate and timely payroll
• Prepare and process 3rd party benefits funding
• Compile internal management reports from payroll system software
o Perform General HR Functions
• Maintain associate files
• Maintain up-to-date job descriptions and org charts
• Maintain HRIS system records and compile reports from database
• Process EDD claims
o Assist with Miscellaneous Projects
• Company events
• Development of department goals and objectives
• Implementation of strategic HR programs
• Other HR related duties, as assigned

Job Requirements

• 3+ years of Human Resources experience
• 1-2 years of payroll administration experience a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Understanding of HR programs including recruitment/on-boarding, benefits, payroll and employee relations
• Understanding of various employment laws and their impact on HR matters
• Ability to make timely, effective, principle-based decisions
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Unquestionable sense of ethics, including the ability to handle confidential information
• Strong service orientation and self-confidence
• Resourceful and innovative problem solver; persuasive and able to influence at all levels within the organization
