JOB OVERVIEW
The Graphic Apparel Designer is responsible for designing seasonal menswear product within (but not limited to) Graphic T-shirts, hats/accessories, and all-over garment prints.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design seasonal menswear product
• SMU designs for sales, marketing, executive team and design
• Develop tech packs (in Adobe Illustrator) for all designs
• Update tech packs, CADs, and mill sheets as reviews take place, and designs revised
• Create Mill Sheets for patterns/ repeats
• Research, interpret, and apply market trends (competitors and non-competitors) appropriate to the brand
• Additional responsibilities, outside of seasonal collections, as assigned
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications; focus on Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Highly developed sense of creativity for color, print, pattern, fabric. silhouettes, and trends
• Proficient in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
• Ability to maintain consistency throughout categories
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and calendars
• Ability to work cross functionally
• Strong presentation skillset
• Strong organization and attention to detail skillset
• Team player with the ability to interact and collaborate with other designers
• Hand Drawing, Sketching and/or Painting skills a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Technical trade school and/or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in apparel design
