Position Summary:
The primary responsibility for this position is to ensure Monster Energy is receiving the best value options for all raw materials along with securing and capacity to fit with the company’s strategies for designated geographies.
Essential Job Functions:
Negotiate best price and terms of agreements with vendors
Understand industry trends in beverage and commodities
Cost Analysis and Modeling
Cost Rationalization
Cost Reduction Projects
Project Management/Special Projects
Establish new vendor programs and partnerships
Assist accounting in resolving price discrepancies
Visit vendors’ offices and plants (domestic and overseas) to assess their capabilities and capacities
Work with the appropriate departments to ensure that selected vendors have the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
Analyze Supply Chain Sourcing such as Raw Material Packaging and Co-Packing pack fees
Monitor shipments and shipping logistics to make sure we ship in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
Provide data for, and work directly with Cost Accounting to determine product cost of goods
Develop and implement purchasing procedures and policies consistent with company objectives
Analyze and report accounting purchase price variances
Be an active member in the product development process to ensure new ingredients are sourced as appropriate
Supports regional and global supply and quality issues; actively participates in the resolution of crisis level issues
Directs the efforts of subordinates to establish strategies and maintain reliable sources of supply and supervise the negotiation of procured materials and services
Participates on high level business teams to understand regional business strategies and align those strategies with both regional and global procurement category strategies
Leads change management efforts while creating alignment & integration internally and externally
Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or modified either formally or informally, wither in wiring or verbally at the discretion of management
Position Requirements:
Bachelor of Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or related filed
SAP Experience Preferred
Lean manufacturing experience preferred
3-5 years’ experience in Purchasing with CPG company (Beverage industry preferred)
Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper
automation opportunities
Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Able to analyze large amounts of data and creatively problem solve
Strong communication skills across different countries and functions within an organization
Excellent negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
Management process improvements projects related to the purchasing function
Ability to work independently with minimal direction in a dynamic and fast paced, changing environment and
take initiative
