WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
In this role we are looking for an high performing Engineering Manager to play a critical role in building the API Services capabilities for Nike’s Planning and Manufacturing Products. You will be instrumental in creating a team with a strong focus on instilling trust, effective collaboration, high performance culture and mindset to exceed business expectations and outcomes. Ability to navigate in a complex matrixed organization and lead the team towards successful delivery and individual career growth.
Leadership
* Advocate and implement quality best practices.
* Curate and Provide Product/Platform specific quality KPI’s for monthly business reviews
* Advocate practices & quality/mindset culture in the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
* Champion technical delivery in creating best practices, core engineering/architectural principles in building API and services for Planning & Manufacturing.
* Partner with Product Engineering and Architecture team in building state of the art solutions and platforms
* Contribute towards establishing best practices; drive collaborative review of design, code, test plan and dataset implementation performed by other engineers in support of delivering high quality product features.
* Responsible for driving excellence in Dev/Ops such as continuous integration, deployment, and improvement, test automation, instrumentation and observability, SLAs, high-availability, and improvement of ops metrics.
* Disseminate technical knowledge to the team members on emerging ideas through multiple forums (e.g., user groups, tech talks, design reviews, internal blogs).
* Owns the resource plans for the area (right talent and team composition)
* Mentor and develop other engineers. Develops competencies and skills of team members.
* Prepares and delivers performance reviews and conducts performance management coaching
* Make Hiring decision
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
* Collaborate with Technical Product Managers to understand product roadmap and requirements to define scope and effort estimates.
* Engage with Scrum master to define and align with product roadmap, schedule and timelines
* Work with Engineers on the team to provide full context and understanding of customers and business requirements to create valuable solutions.
* Partner with Architects and Lead engineers to ensure smooth technical decisions and implementation
* Engage with Engineering and Produict directors to delivery outcomes, guidance and escalation management
* Work with external vendors and partners to build cost effective and best in class solutions
