WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

As the Operations Accounting Senior Accountant for Nike Trading Company B.V. and Nike Global Trading B.V. in Singapore ("Nike Trading Company"), you will be responsible for managing the global Inventory and intercompany accounting activities for the buy/sell operations of the Nike Trading Company.
We are looking for a candidate with strong accounting operations experience in the area of Inventory and Intercompany. Preferably someone with a strong process improvement and automation mindset, with aptitude to using automation tools such as Alteryx. The individual is also expected to communicate complex concepts as well as work collaboratively, independently and partner cross functionally with multi-cultural stakeholders, both financially and non-financially trained.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

(1) Business Excellence
• Responsible for E2E inventory accounting process for buy/sell operations including:
- Timely execution of month-end Inventory closing activities which includes material ledger settlement, purchase price variance analysis, reconciliations activities (such as balance sheet accounts reconciliations), recording of inventory in-transit and other inventorial cost related transactions as well as Balance Sheet / Profit & Loss flux analysis and reviews.
- Prepare month-end inventory reporting for validating results, variance explanations and financial statements analysis. Where there are exceptions, investigate, communicate succinctly and provide resolutions for the root causes. Ensure action items are communicated and followed up effectively with the relevant parties.
- Manage quarterly inventory count activities
• Responsible for the global intercompany accounting processes, including
- validation of product billings completeness
- perform various intercompany chargeback entries,
- intercompany revenue accrual,
- intercompany revenue revaluation to standard rates, and intercompany gross margin analysis
- Manage Intercompany Markup changes
• Perform FX accounting entries and FX gain/loss analysis in relation to our buy-sell transactions
• Operational engagements and management of key stakeholders
• Resolve day-to-day and complex accounting issues
• Responsible for building/maintaining relevant desk-top procedures in accordance with the established controls and policies.
• Support internal and external audits and SOX walkthroughs
• Ensure compliance with NIKE’s Corporate policies, SOX controls, and statutory/tax filing requirements
• Build reports using automation tools e.g. Alteryx
• Performs other duties as assigned or required
• Month End Accountabilities:
- Prepare and communicate complex statutory and management accounting entry in accordance with accounting standards and Transfer Pricing Policy
- Pre-close BSPL flux analysis and financial impact assessment
(2) Business Partnering and Process Improvement
• Partner with various stakeholders including Global and Geography/Country Controlling, Supply Chain, Geo Tax, Global Treasury to support business requirements, research on exceptions to identify root causes, and drive process improvements.
• Maintain integrity of financial statements and compliance with US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements through performance of health checks, enabling process improvements and documentation of processes and SOP to meet internal control and reporting requirements
