DescriptionAs a Product Designer, your role on the team will include working closely with product managers, business partners and development teams to bring new and innovative solutions to life. We are looking for someone with the ability and desire to create highly functional and visually appealing tools that empower creative content in key areas across Nike.com. Your job is to make sure that our platform of products and services are intuitive, usable, and beautiful to our global internal content team.The ideal candidate for this position can translate business needs and qualitative and quantitative data into amazing operational solutions. You are hands-on at visualizing experience concepts and can create and drive that vision into actionable design deliverables. You have experience in executing and directing the production of user interface wireframes and designs, interaction models, and prototypes. You are comfortable presenting your concepts to stakeholders and are able to translate for a range of audiences including product managers and engineers. You think first from the customer’s perspective and set relentlessly high standards for yourself and your partners in developing best-in-class experiences from concept to execution.
Responsibilities:
Define the user experience strategy to streamline operations across NIKE’s global digital content teams
Provide hands-on expertise and leadership in the development of information architecture deliverables including site maps, user flows, UI sketches, wireframes, prototypes and features and functions specifications
Provide input to the product manager in the heuristic evaluations and competitive audits for usefulness, usability, visual design, content and branding
Work side-by-side with engineering, operations, and product management, delivering design specs and assets, within a Scrum team using two-week development cycles
Seek innovative and intuitive approaches to interaction design
Participate in core product team strategy discussions and workshops to help define use cases and business strategies that will make the product successful
Partner with design talent (agency and in-house) to design new or modify existing experiences
Partner with product managers to drive consensus on UX designs across stakeholders and negotiate diverse points of view and priorities
Partner with engineers and product managers to assure UX guidelines are understood and implemented to the highest standards
Produce a UI Style Guide
Create custom icons and graphics that support the product
Champion user-research best practices. Create and implement user surveys.
QualificationsExperience and understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to product development
Process driven and strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to negotiate consensus and resolve issues
A data driven approach to inform design decisions and product roadmaps
Experience working collaboratively across different skillsets
Excellent user experience intuition and knowledge
Demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly digital experiences for interfaces and tools
Deep understanding of user motivations, market opportunities and competition through research and testing
Comprehension in multiple device types and contexts (desktop, tablet, mobile) and both responsive and adaptive designs for the web
A strong portfolio of work samples showcasing creativity, thoughtfulness, and simplicity in interaction and visual design of products
Broad experience designing web and mobile applications with a bias for action and learning
5 years of UI design and interactive work
Bachelor’s degree in design-related discipline such as Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Architecture, Library and Information Science, Journalism or equivalent
