DescriptionNike Smart Systems Engineering envisions, develops, and commercializes the future of digitally enabled and connected products that serve the athlete. We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Systems Engineer for Nike Smart Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for architecting and developing innovative, adaptive products that help make athletes better. In this role, you will work closely with various functional teams, including Design, Product Innovation, Engineering, and Manufacturing. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate globally with engineering development partners and contract manufacturing teams. Join us and help create the future of sport.Qualifications- Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.- Minimum 10 years of work experience in electrical/mechanical design engineering.- Engineering experience in the consumer electronics or medical industry is highly preferred.- Works with Engineers, Designers, Innovators, and Product Management to architect and realize intent, manufacturability, and experience design of electro-mechanical systems. - Uses concept sketches, engineering design/ideas, and other communication methods to assure clear understanding of technological capabilities and limitations.- Creates specifications and quotation documentation in order to lead external professional services firms (domestic and international), factories, and component vendors to create prototypes, generate proof-of-concepts, execute commercialization process, and maintain consumer electronic products.- Function as an engineering knowledge base and resource across the company, clearly communicating and explaining complex electro-mechanical system capability/limitations in both technical and non-technical manners in order to facilitate innovation work. Provide rationale and recommendations for technical and market-driven product decisions.- Leads internal and external, cross discipline, technical teams. Must be able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.- High-level understanding of engineering technical disciplines (mechanical, electrical and firmware engineering) required.- Must be well versed in low-power electrical system design. - Excellent creativity, communication, presentation, troubleshooting, time-management, and analytical skills are required.- Expertise in high-volume new-product-introduction (NPI), including overseeing contract manufacturers is a plus.- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.- Available for late afternoon/evening conference calls.
