Description
As a Sr. Director, Global Data Governance you will work closely with VP, Enterprise Data & Analytics and be a member of the Nike Technology Senior Team (ST). This role is integral to driving the digital transformation of Nike and creating the capabilities needed that allows us to serve the consumer faster and more personally, at scale. This role, in conjunction with our business leaders will help accelerate our greatest opportunities and put decision-making closer to the consumer, across Nike, so we can move at the speed of the marketplace. The strategic leader in this role will be responsible for encouraging all levels of strategy, vision implementationtion to deliver on the mission of governing and managing Nike’s critical data assets supporting the end to end Nike value chain. This role will partner across technology and the business to cultivate consistent / best-in-class Data Governance (Meta Data Management / Data Cataloging, Data Quality, Master Data Management, & lineage) across Nike’s 20+ Data domains, impacting every part of our business.This enterprise leader will be accountable for the continued facilitation of a Nike-wide culture of data ownership and recognition that quality data and information are core assets. Ultmately, this leadership role at Nike will nurture and guide the strategic direction for how Nike uses data as a strategic asset to serve our global consumers, personally, at scale.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS-Operate as a thought leader and visionary, with the ability to guide, impact and inspire peak performance, innovation and adoption of data and analytics solutions across the Nike value chain.-Own the strategy and Drive consistent / best-in-class Data Governance (Meta Data Management / Data Cataloging, Data Quality, Master Data Management, & lineage) across all parts of the Nike business and 20+ data domains.-In partnerhship with the business, establishes and maintains a Data Quality and Stewardship Framework, which consists of policies, standard operating procedures, measures, standards and requirements, in order to foster awareness, trust, and strengthen ownership and accountability.-Serves as the product owner and guides the business requirements for Master Data Management & governance platforms, tools and capabilities.-Creates a data democratization and ensure Nike Data is discoverable, catalogued, catergorized and available to support a variety of data products and services-Responsible for the communication and change management plan for Enterprise Information Management with data stewards and business owners-Collaborates with senior stakeholders and Nike legal Compliance in developing recommendations around policies, privacy standards and framework(s) for data governance and controls-Conceptualize, develop, and communicate global master data programs in alignment with business strategy serving as a MDM thought leader-Design and develop frameworks and data quality control mechanisms to ensure highest levels of data integrity and quality across Nike-Constant monitoring of master data against the currently used data in various business processes to identify the gaps, discrepancies and the opportunities to further improve quality of master data.-Establish and implement an Enterprise Metadata Strategy that provides consistency across all Nike Data domains but also flexibility for evolution and growth based on business needs.-Partner with Nike business leaders to establish scalable data stewardship roles and processesQualificationsProven track record of:Proven experience leading and inspiring a high-performing data team to support growth objectives
Creating innovative data products, algorithms and solutions, using the most recent technologies
Evangelism of technology & data/analytics capabilities with business executives to solve their toughest challenges
Skills:Strong skills in team leadership and building positive business partner relationships
Strong networking skills and ability to work across multiple organizations to accomplish diverse goals
Demonstrated ability to influence critical business outcomes in a matrix based, global environment
Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
Familiarity with data privacy laws and controls (IE: GDPR, VPPA)
Experience working with data & analytic solutions and the science behind them, either as a builder/provider of these solutions or as a client that uses them.
Familiarity with the trends and opportunities in the data governance, analytics & big data space
Experience in thought leadership in emerging master data management technologies including machine learning, AI and data science to improve data quality and management
Experience and deep knowledge of metadata management and tools strongly preferred 
Qualifications:At least 8 years MDM, reference or transactional data management, data governance, data engineering  data architecture, data modeling or data analysis experience t least 8 years of program management and project management experience
Experience with MDM tools or products (e.g. SAP MDG, Informatica, etc)
BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Business or related field
