Description Nike’s Global Controlling organization is currently developing and deploying an in-house department that will deliver accounting operations processes across North America and Global business units. Global Accounting Operations is a shared delivery team which will execute record-to-report and financial close functions for stakeholders across the company, helping to streamline, standardize and drive efficiencies. As we build out the foundation for our global operating model, we are looking for experienced managers who are able to lead between 3-7 resources and drive processing and results based on agreed upon performance metrics and client service level agreements. Our managers will be champions of the shared delivery vision, supporting the implementation of process optimization practices while also delivering on required accounting excellence. Candidates will be well-versed in financial close processes and GAAP accounting, helping to ensure our practices are in-line with control and policy requirements. They’ll be dynamic in their ability to define new opportunities within shared delivery for enhancement while also collaborating with business partners to identify new opportunities for support. We are looking for passionate, driven individuals who can help be a part of establishing a critical organization for a Fortune 500 multinational organization.
Provide Best-Practice insights/leadership over Intercompany Accounting processes
Provide visible leadership and delivers effective and timely communication and feedback
Act as a champion for the shared delivery vision, mission, and strategy
Manage and lead a team to ensure output and quality of the services meet stakeholder expectations
Coordinate opportunities within the shared delivery group as well as with the Centers of Excellence (COEs)
Coach staff, support development, make hiring decisions, and drive performance management, recognition and rewards
Manage projects and initiatives throughout the year
Lead the team in the preparation of timely and insightful analysis of pertinent information to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information in line with GAAP and NIKE accounting policy
Review, execute, and support the closing of financial statements
Participate in policy development and functional discussions/initiatives
Utilize advanced knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to maintain a risk-optimized environment
Manage the day to day maintenance activities for assigned tools (as applicable)
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree
CPA preferred.
Minimum of 7-10 years directly relevant work experience
3-5 years with a National public accounting firm.
4-6 years with a Fortune 500/multi-national consumer products company preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of Intercompany Accounting experience with a Fortune 500/multi-national company
SAP experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, and risks with leadership team. 
MS Office and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.). 
Customer service and cross-functional interpersonal skills. 
Deep operational process subject matter expertise. 
Consistent attention to detail.
Process optimization background (LEAN, Six Sigma) preferred.
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Business or Accounting or similar.  In lieu of a degree, 6 years of experience overall or a minimum of 3-5 years accounting and/or operational experience.
Demonstrated ability to coach individuals and teams to high performance results; experience in aligning and influencing cross-cultural, cross-functional teams throughout the enterprise to deliver operational results aligned to strategy
Strong written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills; ability to create trust among those with diverse personal styles.
Strong analytical skills; demonstrated skills in understanding details with ability to present concise data to leadership
Proven energy to navigate complex organizational structures.
High tolerance for ambiguity; ability to self-initiate results through identification of needs to deliver on strategy
Applied understanding of Project/Transition/Change Management concepts, models, and best practices
