Our ideal candidate will bring a broad range of lean and agile experiences working within large-scale organizations with specific knowledge working with digital technologies and processes at scale.Responsibilities: Manage a Scrum Master team to nurture self-organizing, high performing teams through servant leadership and mentoring
Coach the Scrum Master team in implementing and evolving agile norms and best practices
Organize and facilitate activities for the Scrum Master team, including off-sites, staff meetings, 1-1 meetings and working sessions
Mentor the career development of direct-report employee Scrum Masters
Perform organizational management functions for the Scrum Master team, including administrative activities, performance reviews, oversight of work-in-progress, work assignment management, budgeting and hiring of employees and contractors
Works closely with efforts led by the Agile Practice Office (APO) to establish effective agile governance approaches, such as assessments, metrics, dashboards and reporting
Communicate and evangelize the Agile Practice Office’s vision within their Scrum Master team and with Product and Engineering leadership within their function
Analyze the state of the agile teams within the responsible areas to determine Scrum Master resourcing needs and opportunities for improvement of agile practices
Responsible for relevant metrics that provide organizational visibility and help the team see how they are doing
Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team of Scrum Masters and their processes
Able to gain the respect of the team, external stakeholders, and management
Able to resolve conflict through arbitration, negotiation, reasoned discussion, or escalation
Must be adept at recognizing team dysfunctions, and then facilitate resolution as needed
Partner with Engineering and Product teams in creating and optimizing a fully transparent delivery value stream
In-depth knowledge of agile ceremonies and techniques, including sprint planning, retrospectives, sprint reviews, and team health
Ensure cross-team coordination, including assisting the organization in process improvements
Responsible for ensuring the team’s process evolves within organizational guidelines and standards of practice
QualificationsRequirements:5 or more years of strong Scrum Master experience, demonstrating full life-cycle and broad agile framework and practice expertise
Strong education, such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a field with direct application to software product development.
Complete understanding of agile processes such as Scrum, XP and Kanban
Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and executing the full range of agile practices including story mapping, backlog grooming, story writing, release planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives
Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) approach and practices
Demonstrated experience using agile tools both at the team and organizational levels
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex agile concepts in straightforward ways to a variety of audiences
Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and proactively collaborate with all organizational roles
Excellent self-motivated learning abilities, especially in the areas of leadership and software processes
Experience to explain and promote agile engineering practices such as pair programming, continuous delivery, TDD, BDD and refactoring preferred
People-management or demonstrated leadership experience required
Experience using Jira to track and make visible sprint backlog work flow preferred
