Working with our organization will be rewarding, challenging, and most definitely not be just another job.Nike Direct seeks a Scrum Master Manager with a proven track record of delivering world-class products within complex digital environments to advance our platform and applications. Our ideal candidate will bring a broad range of lean and agile experiences working within large-scale organizations with specific knowledge working with digital technologies and processes at scale.Responsibilities: • Responsible for guiding the development of an agile team into an effective delivery unit with a sustainable cadence• Responsible for ensuring the team’s process evolves within organizational guidelines and standards of practice• Must be able to nurture self-organizing, high performing teams through servant leadership and mentoring• Encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team and processes• Able to gain the respect of the team, external stakeholders, and management• Able to resolve conflict through arbitration, negotiation, reasoned discussion, or escalation• Must be willing and able to identify problems, impediments, dependencies, and other team dysfunctions, and then facilitate quick resolution• Must be able to facilitate the development process• Uphold and defend, as well as coach and mentor, the agile values and principles • Skilled at creating a fully transparent development process• Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, retrospectives and sprint reviews • Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed • Ensure cross-team coordination • Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal • Maintain relevant metrics that provide organizational visibility and help the team see how they are doing • Works closely with efforts led by the Agile Practice Office (APO) to establish effective agile governance approaches, such as assessments, metrics, dashboards and reporting.• Communicating and evangelizing the Agile Practice Office’s vision within their Scrum Master team.• Analyzing the state of the agile teams within the responsible areas to determine Scrum Master resourcing needs and opportunities for improvement of agile practice.• Coaching and mentoring the Scrum Master team in implementing and evolving agile norms and best practices.• Selective coaching of agile teams and team members, as well surrounding management and stakeholders.• Organizing and facilitating activities for the Scrum Master team, including off-sites, staff meetings, 1-1 meetings and working sessions.• Mentoring the career development of direct-report employee Scrum Masters.• Performing organization management functions for direct-report employee Scrum Masters, including administrative activities, performance reviews, oversight of work-in-progress, work assignment management, budgeting and hiring of employees and contractors.Qualifications• 5 or more years of strong Scrum Master experience, demonstrating full life-cycle and broad agile framework and practice expertise.• Strong education, such as a Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a field with direct application to software product development.• Complete understanding of agile processes such as Scrum, XP and Kanban• Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and executing the full range of agile practices including story mapping, backlog grooming, story writing, release planning, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.• Knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) approaches and practice.• Demonstrated experience using agile tools both at the team and organizational level.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex agile concepts in straightforward ways to a variety of audiences.• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and proactively collaborate with all organizational roles.• Excellent self-motivated learning abilities, especially in the areas of leadership and software process.• Experience to explain and promote agile engineering practices such as pair programming, continuous delivery, TDD, BDD and refactoring preferred• Experience using Jira to track and make visible sprint backlog work flow preferred NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
