We exist to optimize Nike. The Express Lane program is looking for a top flight lead developer to work with internal design functions, developers, and architecture to fully understand the development ask for the technical prototypes we build. This role is primarily responsible for guiding day-to-day development of the operations/SDLC stack, platform/tool configuration, and service development between all other dev team members, performing code reviews, and specifically owning the API/service development. If you’re the one, here’s what you’d be responsible for: As a Development Team Lead at Nike, you will be accountable for promoting and fostering SDLC best practices, mentoring the dev team, and ensuring that all delivered software products adhere to an agreed-upon quality standard. This is a development role, and you would be directly responsible for API development and model integration in conjunction with other COTS tools to properly maintain standardized, loose-coupling between components. Express Lane is a broadly cross-functional program, both in terms of the interaction and communication across the enterprise, as well as our internal organization – business and technology are co-located and help define and refine the program scope together every day. As a result, written and verbal communication skills are an even higher priority than normal for Express Lane resources. We’re looking for people who are smart, adaptable, and capable of interpreting and seeing a rough idea through to execution and further, into sustainability.

QualificationsA passion for technology and solving interesting challenges.
Proven problem solver and pragmatic thinker.
5+ years combined hands-on operations experience with public cloud, distributed computing, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and custom developed solutions.
5+ years of hands-on development experience with Python or Java (preferred); experience in microservice-oriented, domain-driven design is a bonus.
Strong familiarity with the range of cloud services available through major cloud platform providers (AWS, Azure, etc), and a solid understanding of the tradeoffs between fully custom development, leveraging lower level cloud services with custom integration, and pure COTS deployment, with a bias toward speed-to-market.
Some background with applied statistics / machine learning-based models is a plus, particularly in terms of service-to-service integration of model input.
Expertise with a continuous deployment platform like Jenkins, Circle, etc, is highly desirable.
Expertise with configuration-as-code platforms/tools such as Puppet, Ansible, etc, is highly desirable.
An understanding of automated testing / build testing of infrastructure code within the pipeline deployment process is a major plus.
Have the ability to translate business requirements to end-to-end solutions.
Collaborative mind, able to work with a team to deliver the strongest solution.
Self-starter and takes ownership in the quality of work being delivered.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering Focused degree or equivalent work experience.
