DescriptionNode.js Services Software Engineer Job DescriptionThe Software Engineer is responsible for architecture, technical direction and execution of a software project within an agile scrum team. This position requires both depth and breadth of technology expertise. This individual must be highly proficient with current software development technology, tools and practices, particularly in the areas of Node.js and Web Services. In addition, this individual must possess the ability to “see the big picture” and constantly steer projects toward the right solution, be business savvy and be able to design solutions that meet customer needs and constraints.Desired Skills and ExperienceEssential Duties and Responsibilities
PrimaryTranslate business needs and requirements into user stories and technical specifications
Assist in the preparation of product roadmaps and sprint planning, specifically in the areas of task breakdown, estimating, and scheduling
Designing, and developing reliable and maintainable applications
Create and enhance Node.js services individually and with team members
Developing automated unit, performance, and integration tests and test harnesses
Documenting software designs and project tasks
Participating in design and code reviews
Support live services as needed.
Triage issues.
SecondaryProvide technical assistance and expertise to business sponsors as needed
Review project requirements, plans, designs and other project deliverables
Perform other duties as assigned

QualificationsTechnical SkillsRequired • 2 years of JavaScript • 2 years of Node.js experience. • 1 year of web services with Node.js • 2 years of platform or middleware work. • Experience with Node.js test automation • Solid understanding of at least OO languages and proper OO class design • 1 year of Node.js unit test experience. Plusses• Experience with REST • Familiarity with Cloud Development • Familiarity with Database and/or NoSQL Education
Bachelors degree in computer science or other equivalent engineering or science field Experience
At least 2 years software development experience with an emphasis on middleware services.
Experience with agile and test-driven development practices, including automated unit testing frameworks and continuous integration products
