DescriptionThe Nike Direct Communications team supports the internal and external communications that serves and supports this business. This includes development of an external media and thought leadership strategy to drive our storytelling as a mobile first, membership-driven, innovation brand, along with proactive communications to 40,000+ store employees globally, keeping them inspired, informed, engaged and updated on our brand, innovation, category and business priorities.We are looking for a Communications Manager who can help develop a fully integrated messaging and narrative for Nike Direct, and support an editorial calendar of storytelling targets around our future of retail integrated offense and how we are inspiring personalization at scale. The role sits in the Nike Direct Communications team and works closely with Nike’s Global Message Center of Excellence, a strategic function within the Global Communications team that guides the company narrative and messages. Internal: Development of key messages and supporting copy for all story development through internal channels for store communications - including daily store huddles, Nike Direct Zero, Retail Relay.
Create and maintain a extensive and dynamic editorial calendar of communications to store employees in addition to sharing their story, sports passion and community based work through our existing internal Nike channels. 
Script development and messaging for Town Hall meetings and email communications and other internal communications for Nike Direct senior leadership (VP and above)
Drafting internal stories around Nike Direct for global intranet
External: Work with Nike Direct Leadership, Nike Direct Comms leadership and the Global Messaging and Narrative COE to help develop and develop an externally facing story and narrative.
Craft a narrative, messaging, scripts, and talking points for both internal and external speaking opportunities for Nike Direct leadership around the world. 
Develop messaging for the Nike Direct leadership team to reach Nike’s 40,000+ retail employees, external stakeholders and millions of consumers. 
Collaborate with Global and Geography Nike Direct communications teams to develop themes and story arcs that will guide Nike Direct’s strategy and maintain continuity of messaging around the world. 
Development of issues and crisis management communications materials when necessary
Partner with Corporate Communications, the Global Messaging team, Investor Relations, HR, etc. to strengthen the Nike Direct narrative through multiple channels. 
Story themes to include:Future of Retail (Digital/physical interaction, new store openings, new products, services and experiences launching in store)
Nike Plus Membership
Nike Digital Commerce expansion and the Nike app portfolio (Nike App, SNKRS, Nike Run Club, Nike Training Club) 
Partner communications (eg Facebook, Instagram, Apple Music, Classpass)
QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related discipline
5+ years of professional Communications experience
Relevant experience of messaging, scripting and writing materials for leaders
Experience in Comms for a physical/digital retail organization an advantage 
Strong writing skills and editorial planning combined with speed, flexibility and attention to detail
Experience in developing effective and engaging communication plans that leverage multiple platforms including digital, audio, video, mobile and social media. 
Ability to build and cultivate key relationships internally with multiple business partners, and work well in a cross-functional, cross-geographical and cross-category matrix organizational structure
Preferred:Keynote and design skills
A passion for sport, digital innovation, the future of retail and the consumer
