DescriptionAs the Director of Data Visualization on the Marketplace Analytics team, you manage a team of visualization experts in developing self-service management reports and executive level dashboards to be leveraged by business leadership and analysts in gaining critical insights on Nike marketplace successes and opportunities. Your team will evolve the existing landscape of reporting and propel critical information needs through robust business and data comprehension and cross-functional partnership and collaboration. With this diverse role, areas of potential focus range from (1) driving best in class development of Tableau visualizations across Marketplace Analytics (2) development standards and best practice mentorship in the design of data products (3) driving optimal reporting performance and usability (4) partnering with engineering and business counterparts to deliver enterprise level reporting (5) and influencing backend technology decisions to maximize front-end visualization potential. This role will be vital in shaping the landscape by which key Nike business functions interact with and leverage data through self-serve reporting capabilities. If you’re right for this role, you’re a data evangelist with an astute understanding of how front-end design is critical in driving impactful user interaction and data comprehension. You recognize the full potential of data visualization in representing business opportunities and can demonstrate how the right visualization or report can fuel insights and drive business results. You will be at the heart of critical Nike business functions and will help the team make decisions that will drive performance and efficiencies that directly leading to the accomplishment of annual goals.Qualifications•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or other relevant areas•Between 7-10 years professional experience required•Strong presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills•Demonstrated ability to think critically and seamlessly collaborate with engineering partners•Advanced knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Server•Experience developing on other visualization and reporting platforms (RShiny, PowerBI, Quicksight,) a plus•UI/UX Design background or certification is preferred•Experience developing reporting for all tiers of a matrixed organization (executive, director and analyst level)•Intermediate SQL skills required•Experience with big data environments strongly preferred•Experience managing and developing visualization talent NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
