Working with our organization will be rewarding, challenging, and most definitely not be just another job.Scope and Responsibilities:As the US Customs / Footwear Import Analyst your role on the team will include:Classify footwear according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States in an accurate and efficient manner
Respond to US Customs Brokers requests for information regarding import shipments.
Communicate daily with appropriate parties, including foreign factories to obtain information necessary for Customs clearance.
Monitor regulatory changes and help with revising compliance policies and practices in accordance with changing legal framework and business models
Participate in special projects or programs such as Free Trade, duty drawback, and carnets
Collect and compile brokerage metric reports and report results to import team and personnel in other departments
Provide training on import compliance topics as requested
Attend line reviews with departments to provide guidance on the forecasted duty rate for footwear
Identify applicability for duty-free entry using trade preference programs or other duty free provisions in the US regulations.
Help maintain written procedures for the nominated U.S. Customs brokers.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, an additional two years of experience is acceptable.
Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and HTSUS Classification.
Footwear classification experience strongly preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific applications.
Demonstrated experience handling multiple projects with competing priorities.
Strong attention to details and proficient recordkeeping and database maintenance skills
Demonstrated experience meeting time sensitive deadlines.
Cooperative and willing to assist others / team player.
US Customer Brokers License preferred.
