We are seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead development of Nike Global Retail Platform. As part of this team we build Retail platform services that provides unparalleled consumer experience in over 30 countries. We build a platform that facilitates all aspects of the consumer and store associate journeys in Nike brick and mortar stores. Some example capabilities include channel agnostic commerce, industry leading consumer experiences, payment and work force management. The successful candidate is an inclusive leader with a history of building, coaching, and inspiring software engineering scrum teams. Drawing from your software engineering background, you will drive software engineering excellence. A passion for DevOps, monitoring, automated testing, and continuous deployment is a must.As Senior Manager of Retail Platform Engineering, you willHelp set goals, vision and create technical road map for the team
Coach and develop future leaders within Retail and build a strong bench.
Partner with Product, Architecture and engineering to create, influence the product backlog and make decisions on technical debt and feature road maps. Be the owner of "how" and help drive cross functional execution.
Provide technical leadership in the evaluation, conceptualization, design, and development of major new capabilities in Retail
Share the learnings through blogs, talks and discussions across Nike
Drive cross functional alignment and technical delivery of major capabilities across value streams
Champion DevOps methodology where you help propagate a culture of "Infrastructure as code"," Continuous deployments" and a culture of owning the full life cycle of the solution.
Leverage agile methodology concepts for quality, delivery and continuous improvement in observability, scalability, reliability of the platform.
Qualifications
8+ years software engineering experience
2+ years in a manager or leadership role with direct reports
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and business-facing
Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
Fluent in modern software architectural principles and patterns (REST, domain-driven design, microservices, etc)
Continuous Integration and automated testing experience, Continuous Deployment is a major plus
Experience deploying, monitoring, and supporting mission critical cloud applications, AWS is a plus
Successfully implemented Scrum and agile planning within a large portfolio with many scrum teams and dependencies
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience
Ability to pass a seven-year background investigation
