DescriptionNike Material Procurement experts ensure that every year 900 million pieces of footwear, apparel and equipment are sourced to meet the needs of our consumers and internal business partners. That’s no easy task. The complex process involves more than 20,000 materials, a global network of hundreds of suppliers, and more than 500 manufacturing locations around the world. Nike Global Procurement professionals constantly push for ways to make Nike’s manufacturing processes faster, more efficient, and more responsive to Nike’s always-changing consumer needs.We are looking for a Chemical Materials Sourcing Manager who will develop and lead global strategies to manage our global Footwear Chemical Materials portfolio.  This is a highly visible role allowing the opportunity to lead and inspire, while helping to define Nike’s future in this space.  You will be a part of a global team located in key geographies reporting into the Global Director, Chemicals & Packaging Procurement while interfacing closely with our Chemical Engineering and Product Creation teams globally.  Working in Nike's Procurement business will be rewarding, it will be challenging, and it will most definitely not be just another job.  As our Chemical Materials Sourcing Manager, you will lead managing the supply base in order provide the footwear community access to relevant, price competitive, and inspiring materials.  You will be responsible for driving scale of commodities to support direct procurement initiatives and ensuring such initiatives are implemented seamlessly.  By understanding supplier capabilities, capacities, performance, and supply chains, you will help provide direction to internal teams and manufacturing partners in alignment with Nike sourcing an vendor management strategies.  Business partner engagement will be critical, and you will be responsible for managing and fostering key relationships from Innovation to Execution, with both internal partners and external vendors.  Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in Direct Procurement or Strategic Sourcing with a deep understanding of  manufacturing processes
Superior communication and presentation skills, with strong influencing and persuasive talents
Track-record of demonstrating an entrepreneurial spirit and proven leadership
Ability to analyze data for capacity and usage information
Strong understanding of materials, footwear construction, and product creation process preferred
TCO approach to spend management (supply management, demand management, process management)
Familiarity with product management and development approaches, including consumer insights and competitive product analysis
Experience working cross-culturally on global categories, with leadership, influencing and communication skills gained across a range of cultural environments
Strong project management, including developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results
Ability to pass a background check
Must be willing to travel
MBA or advanced analytical degree is preferred
