DescriptionAs our Technology Engineer in Cushioning Innovation you will work closely with our design team, project managers and other innovators to invent, evaluate, understand, develop and improve Nike’s Cushioning Technologies. You will do this by supporting the team with data acquisition devices and the associated firmware/software. This is building our internet of things from the ground up. Firmware, software, hardware and the user interface are all intertwined, and you know how to get the best out of the system. The hardware devices will be used in a variety of scenarios including samples in the lab and footwear in the field. The team will use your tools to learn about performance cushioning systems and revolutionize the customer experience of footwear. The firmware and software that you develop will need to be constantly evolving to meet the needs of our engineers and our athletes. Though surrounded by a team of engineers, you will be the expert in all things code and will have the experience to guide our team to the most valuable solutions. This role also includes:- Software engineering role supporting research and development of product innovations- Build and maintain iOS applications for limited distribution- Build and maintain Web applications that utilize database solutionsDevelop firmware that collects data from sensors and controls electromechanical devices- Training others on application operationQualifications- Advanced understanding of Swift and Node JS, Angular and React- Proficient in Firmware development using tools such as C++ and Arduino- Proficient in Communications such as Bluetooth, Socket Server and Rest Service- Familiarity with Web app development using tools such as Angular and React- Comfortable developing applications for iOS, Web and Servers- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint- Strong algorithm aptitude and understanding of state machines- Strong problem-solving skills- Ability to work independently- Excellent time management skills - Good written and oral communication skills- Creativity and imagination for product solutionsPreferred qualifications for this position include: - Experience in PCB design and layout- Experience in Pick and Place programming- Experience in Manual Soldering- Good understanding of pneumatic and electromechanical systems- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience - Experience in Agile project management a plus NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
