DescriptionAs an Allocation Analyst in Demand and Supply Management (DSM), you will distribute inventory to ensure the "right" merchandise is in the "right" stores at the "right" time.  You will execute initial allocations of seasonal assortments to deliver the most premium consumer experience in Nike stores and on Nike.com.  You will review sales trends and stock levels in-season, continuously making adjustments to maximize inventory productivity and profitability.  You will understand store, style, color and size level selling performance and work within our allocation systems to optimize product distribution at each of those levels.  You will manage multiple sources of product within a complex supply chain network as well as work closely with stores if stock rebalancing is required.
Business acumen is a must as you will analyze a variety of retail metrics including sell-through, turn, weeks of supply, and gross margin in order to make good decisions and drive sales.  You will share business results in the context of planned and forecasted sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. In partnership with the Planning and Merchandising teams, you will develop store-level distribution strategies for upcoming seasons based on analysis of current sales trend, selling history, and current and projected levels to achieve optimal inventories.  You will identify opportunities and share them cross-functionally to ensure that all are working together to achieve financial goals.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are also required in this highly collaborative environment.  The Allocation Analyst will partner closely with a wide variety of other functions including Merchandising, Planning, Product Presentation, Brand, Marketing, Supply Chain, Field Operations, and Field Leadership in order to be successful.  Our ideal candidate will be highly analytical with strong technical skills, systems aptitude, and the ability to work effectively across a complex organization.  He or she will have a powerful sense of initiative, and a solution-oriented, team-focused mindset.  The strongest candidates will have a demonstrated history of innovative thinking with the ability to bring ideas to life, driving business results and delivering enhanced capabilities and value to the overall team.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Math, Economics or related discipline required
Minimum 2 years related retail planning or allocation experience required
Excellent business analysis skills including metric-based decision making and problem solving
Retail field experience a big plus
Strong proficiency with Excel, including the ability to create pivot tables, write complex formulas, and maintain data integrity across multiple linked spreadsheets
Knowledge of VBA and/or SQL also a plus
Proficiency with other MS Office Products, including Outlook, Power Point, and Word
Flexibility, adjusting priorities and managing time wisely in a fast-paced environment
Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing
Knowledge of Just Enough and/or SAP also a plus
