DescriptionAs a Global Category Merchandise Manager, you are responsible for driving the assortment direction and strategy for the NBA line, focusing on building category/consumer right edited offers to ensure an inspiring, productive, profitable, and integrated marketplace. You will collaborate with Global and Geo cross-functional teams to communicate and drive a clear category vision, supported by well informed seasonal assortment strategies, to create meaningful and relevant connections with consumers at point of sale.Key Accountabilities include:Partner with Geo Category teams to determine consumer-led capacity, insights and seasonal opportunities. 
Compile and analyze Geo-level information for Global harmonization
Create merchandising strategies based on consumer insights, market trends, and Geo input.
Create Seasonal Line Plans in collaboration with Design, Product and Merchandising teams. Contribute data and insights that will be used as a line planning input, and for ongoing validation.
Work with Design and Product partners throughout seasonal gates in the Closer To Market calendar to refine and evolve the plan. Contribute expertise in retail environment, regional Consumer nuance, and marketplace insights.
Work X-functionally with Brand, Marketplace, Nike Direct, and Product Presentation to communicate a consistent and clear Global strategy. 
Create storytelling and go to market tools that highlight key product strategies.. etc..
Maintain an appropriate level of engagement throughout the product lifecycle – Active through the Planning, Creation, and Socialization to Geos phases; Awareness through Socialization within Geo, Sell In, and Sell Thru phases. 
Work with analytics to understand the performance and productivity of the Line Plan, and create action plans to ensure progress toward key performance indicators.
Key Deliverables include:Building Geo and Consumer informed Line Plans, & supporting Close the Loop post-line lock
Collecting Marketplace Insights by Geo and consolidating in a Global view
Owning seasonal execution as it relates to Key Gates, X-functional communication, Merchandising tools, Strategy and Product content, etc
Developing authentic and collaborative relationships with key X-functional and X-category Partners.
Regular analysis, and broadcast - Bookings and POS Teardowns, Seasonal Hindsights, Competitive and Marketplace Recaps. Take action on learnings.
Manage ongoing edits in edited offers and seasonal tool. Maintain seamless flow of communication/alignment with Geo partners.
QualificationsRequires a Bachelor’s degree, and at least 5 years’ experience in merchandising, product creation, and or retail, in a vertical or wholesale environment
Footwear, apparel and/or equipment merchandising experience
Proficiency in retail and profit based metrics
Assortment planning experience
A keen understanding of the Nike consumer and marketplace
A high taste level and passion for product
An ability to employ retail acumen and proven storytelling capabilities
An ability to respond with speed and agility
Candidate must be willing to travel 10-20% of the time
