About the job

As our Tooling Engineer, you will support the daily work of our in-house Tooling Group. You will help lead the processing strategies for Steel rule die, 3D printing, polishing, and machined components. You will be responsible for projects focused on improving operation and efficiency of tooling fabrication processes; focusing on adding new capabilities to the tooling shop. You will coordinate implementation of software and control upgrades, and be a technical resource for tooling shop employees. You will have a thirst for continuously looking for cutting-edge technologies in shop tools, software, and techniques, and bring them in for testing and implementation. You’ll be integral to developing and executing long range plans for our Tooling Organization. In addition, you will assist in utilizing Lean Manufacturing methods to minimize waste and maximize efficiencies.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or industrial Engineering (or other manufacturing related degree), or associate’s degree in related field plus 4 years relevant experience, or 6 years relevant experience. •Experience in precision machining, additive manufacturing, steel rule, assembly, and/or polishing•Experience with SolidWorks and CAM software• Possess a detailed and methodical approach to problem solving•Experience in developing processes, work-holding solutions, and identifying tooling requirements for CNC machining•Ability to work with associates of all levels including managers, engineers, machinists, and machine operators•Proven project management, LEAN Manufacturing, and documentation skillsPreferred additional qualifications:•Experience in optimizing CNC programming through standardization and/or writing macros•Experience with NC verification software or troubleshooting and optimizing CNC postprocessors•Experience with injection molds or match metal dies (designs, manufacturing, or operation) NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
