DescriptionAs our Senior Yarn Developer within Global Apparel Materials, you will develop yarn solutions for Socks and Performance apparel. You will provide technical expertise in yarn development and hosiery applications that will fuel new product concepts and strategic development efforts. You will develop ideas and create technical yarn development solutions for the athlete/consumer, while ensuring alignment with seasonal direction/needs. You will collaborate with the Sock Center of Excellence (COE), Apparel Materials, Design and Product Development to drive a point of view for new yarn/textile technology solutions.  You will partner with external yarn manufacturers, textile technology providers, textile mills and machinery suppliers on solutions to insure that relevant yarns and textile materials applications/processes meet all required performance specifications. Additionally, you will continually research and analyze new yarn opportunities and machine technologies.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Textile Science, Textile Engineering/Technology, Textile Design, Industrial Engineering/Design, Material Science or related field
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in the hosiery or yarn field
2 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Advanced technical materials and textile knowledge, including fibers, yarns, and knits
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
Experience partnering with vendor to develop a material from inception to actual production 
Strong information seeking-skills and a drive to make things happen 
Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group 
Ability to network and utilize internal and external resources 
Ability to demonstrate a sense of style and creativity 
Ability to understand the big picture related to Nike business processes and consumer needs 
Strong  project management skills and data-based decision making skills
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
