Nike aims to have premium and personalized experiences across its apps, stores, and communications with users. The personalization data science teams at Nike create the machine learning models behind those experiences. We are looking for a leader for one of these teams--Feature Engineering and Tagging. This is a new team that will collaborate closely with data engineering in developing a roadmap for the training datasets and ontologies used across our statisticals models. Specific responsibilities will include:
Hiring and mentoring a team of talented full stack data scientists.
Facilitating the creation of a shared feature store for all personalization models at Nike:
Partnering with data engineering to implement a feature store.
Brainstorming and helping implement new features useful for personalization
Helping ensure that ideas and data are shared across science teams.
Supporting the creation of an ontology of data about Nike’s content:
Helping identify which tags/data are most valuable
Coordinating with the librarians and scientists to tag content in-house.
Leveraging crowdsourcing platforms (e.g. Amazon Mechanical Turk) and machine learning as additional means of tagging Nike content at scale.
Collaborating with the broader data science community within Nike, including teams supply chain optimization and demand forecasting.
Representing Nike in the broader data science community outside of Nike.
Experience hiring and mentoring exceptional data science or data engineering teams.
Evidence of strong partnership with engineering, product, and analytics teams.
Experience with machine learning, and in data science and engineering more broadly.
Experience with TensorFlow and Amazon AWS.
Experience with crowdsourcing platforms such as Amazon’s Mechanical Turk.
Experience building knowledge bases.
Experience with matrix factorization and autoencoders.
Product and entrepreneurial mindset.
Experience working with an entertainment studio would be a bonus.
