DescriptionThe Nike Direct organization links our physical and digital retail experiences to deepen consumer relationships and create new ways to serve them. We enable a digital-first approach through physical retail; on Nike.com; across our suite of apps (Nike App, SNKRS, NRC, and NTC); through digital platforms and partnerships; with member services and more. The Global Nike Direct Communications team is responsible for overseeing communications internally and externally for Nike Direct, including the development and activation of communications strategies for our current fleet and new store openings, across Nike's digital ecosystem (ecommerce, app portfolio, etc.) and to our Nike Direct employees globally, which include thousands of retail store employees who serve as some of our best ambassadors for the Nike brand.The Global Nike Direct Employee Communications Manager will play a key role in overseeing our global communication strategy and plan. The position will play a lead role in creating communications for our global store workforce including the management and evolution of digital communication channels.The role requires someone with the ability to deliver new and creative ways of thinking, writing and executing within appropriate internal channels, with the goal of deepening and evolving Nike’s relationship with our employees. The role is primarily responsible for content development across our digital platforms as well as Nike Direct leadership communications (town halls, all-hands meetings, etc.). Content development includes creative concepting, editorial planning and management, sourcing, coordinating, writing, copy editing, etc.This position will work with functional and global geographical partners to develop content and coordinate editorial strategy aligned to global communications objectives. Examples of work include:Developing employee-focused editorial campaigns, content creation and events start to finish, including idea generation, run of show development, theme and key messaging, promotion and storytelling, etc.
Being a key content contributor to an integrated global editorial plan, aligned with key employee-only events and campaigns, brand/sports moments, key product launches and initiatives, athlete moments, leadership communications, etc. 
Ensuring executive communications and store campaigns effectively reach store teams
Coordinating store-focused communications to ensure alignment and content-relevant communications including the management and evolution of digital communication channels
This position requires a candidate with deep experience in message development, digital communications and excellent writing skills. Candidates should have a thorough foundation in writing, editing, content creation and experience developing communications across multiple platforms, including print, web, audio, video, mobile and social media. Event management experience is a plus.An effective candidate will be expected to develop and cultivate key relationships internally with multiple business partners and work well in a cross-functional, cross-geographical and cross-category matrix organizational structure. The role requires someone who can deliver a forward-looking approach to our communications strategies, evolving as the business progresses and proactively adapting to the ever-changing internal environment and communications platform landscape.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or related discipline
5+ years' experience in high-profile editorial role, supporting globally-branded organizations, either in agency or in-house
2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree
Excellent writing, strategic planning and editorial management skills combined with speed, flexibility, and attention to detail
Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes
Ability to develop communications that engage across multiple platforms (i.e., mobile, intranet, video, long-form features, digital newsletters, script writing, etc.)
Deep understanding of the evolving digital landscape
Experience initiating and driving the ideation process contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage
Proven ability to help provide guidance and direction to peers
Preferred:Experience in internal or employee communications
Experience working with high-profile executives
Knowledge of sports culture, footwear or apparel industry
High aptitude for creative thinking, balanced against bottom-line business needs
Ability to work collaboratively with others and develop consensus within diverse groups and with people at all levels within the organization
Ability to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas, and develop effective responses, or elevate to higher management
