DescriptionAs a Nike Kids Footwear Merchandise Manager, APLA Category Merchandising, you are responsible for driving product offer, assortment direction and strategy focused on building category consumer right assortments to ensure a productive, profitable, and integrated marketplace. You will partner with geo category cross-functional teams to deliver well-informed line plan that serves our key channels of distribution aligned to our Consumer Mindsets.Key Accountabilities include:Responsible for developing and coordinating a Market Capacity and Insight led Line Plan, in strong partnership with Geo Marketplace Merchandising & Nike Kids IMP teams.
Translates market insights and feedback to Global Category Merchandising & Global Brand Merchandising to inform the line plan.
Ensures strong partnership with Category, Brand, and APLA Merchandising community to develop strategies that support the Power Franchises and APLA Brand Concept Map.
Read and respond to marketplace performance to inform current assortment and future line plan strategies.
Adopt x-category mindset to learn and share best practices to ensure consistency in our process.
Key Deliverables include: Partner with geography category team in creation and maintenance of geography line plan and consumer-led capacity in alignment with Sales, Ops, and Merchandising.
Ensure geo category seasonal product line plan and assortments will deliver on key performance indicators (i.e. revenue target, margin target and style count target).
Sets geography category seasonal assortment and product pricing strategies.
Partners to determines product segmentation & differentiation strategies for the Geo.
Partners to determine Geo unit Allocation on capacity constrained products.
Strong partnership with geo adults categories to learn and drive relevant & consistent integration on consumer right assortments for Kids category.
Play a key role as part of Kids category merchandising team and contribute to development and execution of overall Kid Strategic Plan for APLA through strong thought partnership with Kids Category Merchandising Director and category cross functional teams.
QualificationsRequires a Bachelor’s degree or additional 2 years of experience in lieu of degree
At least 8 years’ experience in merchandising, product creation, and or retail, in a vertical or wholesale environment.
Footwear, apparel and/or equipment merchandising experience. Strong footwear merchandising experience across sportswear and performance categories is preferred
Strong understanding of adults and kids consumer & marketplace trends
Experience in managing teams in a multi cultural, geographical/territory or other international experience is preferred
Proficiency in retail and profit based metrics
Assortment planning experience
A high taste level for product
An ability to employ retail acumen and proven storytelling capabilities
An ability to respond with speed and agility
Candidate must be willing to travel 10-20% of the time
