DescriptionIn 1981, Nike created the EKIN team (EKIN is “Nike” spelled backwards) to be Nike’s brand evangelists and keep its entrepreneurial spirit alive through personal and meaningful relationships in the community. EKINS carry Nike's passion for the brand and product to enhance our retail partners product knowledge through consistent and timely education. They gather competitive market information and communicate it back to their internal team, serve as an ambassador of Nike's heritage and values within both the Nike organization and the community, and help lead, coach and train retail partners on Nike product, competitor, and community-related topics. They serve as a role models of premium service, consumer engagement and effective Brand communication, and implement Nike product education plans through the effective use of curriculum and tools that include technical product details/functionality/benefits, competitor product details and launches, consumer marketing trends and key Nike product launch detailAs an EKIN in our Portland territory, you will engage directly with consumers and the marketplace. You will be the face of the Nike brand and gain the trust of consumers, through your love of sport and Nike’s inspiration and innovation. You will bring the Nike brand to life in local, authentic and relevant way. You will cultivate Nike’s culture both internally and externally, embodying passion for the brand and brand values. You will leverage your passion for knowledge by constantly seeking the latest information and then evangelizing that in the marketplace. You’ll utilize resources such as EKIN Summits, SKU, EKIN Intel and EKIN Live Broadcasts to build an unrivaled understanding of Nike’s product and innovations.
You will build authentic relationships with consumers through a local grassroots approach. You’ll become an active participant in the community. You will integrate and collaborate with the community in a meaningful and impactful ways that reinforce Nike’s mission and beliefs. Integrated into the community, you’ll also serve as Nike’s eyes and ears, sharing marketplace insights and observations of the consumer, product, competition, and trends. You’ll leverage your passion and influence to strategically authenticate brand stories with key influencers in the marketplace.
You will serve the brand by bringing key seasonal stories to life in the marketplace and connecting with consumers through Nike’s digital and physical experiences. You will conduct experiential trainings and dynamic in-store visits that create brand ambassadors in the retail marketplace. You'll be responsible for implementing effective tools and experiences that engage your audiences.
You’ll curate distinct EKIN Experiences that merge Nike’s inspiration and innovation with the inspiration and innovation of the community. These community focused experiences will bring a local and authentic dimension to Nike’s marketing mix. 
You'll manage a list of key retail partners in your marketplace, in partnership with the Territory EKIN Manager, to consistently reflect and impact the top doors within your marketplace. You'll partner with store managers to educate and inspire through training support to both Nike Direct and key wholesale retail partners in your market.  In addition, you'll actively participate in relevant territory and geography meetings, conference calls, and account meetings/presentations and work productively as a member of the territory team - this includes collaborative efforts with sales teams, the marketing organization, other EKIN, and all other partners within the brand. 
QualificationsBachelors’ degree plus a minimum 1-year retail, sales, customer service, coaching or teaching experience
2 additional years of experience is required in lieu of a degree
Must have knowledge of the Portland market or experience in quickly being immersed in a new city 
Strong connections to, and knowledge of the competitive athlete and its influencers in the assigned territory preferred 
Demonstrated knowledge of the market as it relates to consumer trends, local market hot spots, and retail destinations
Must have strong presentation & interpersonal communication skills
Must have a deep passion for the NIKE brand and sports
Must travel up to 75% of the time
Must lift heavy objects and sample bags that weigh up to 50 lbs. 
Must possess a valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance 
Working knowledge of digital and social media and the ability to stay up on trends preferred (Twitter, IG, etc.) 
Experience with an event agency or large scale special events preferred but not required
