As the Director of Global Demand Planning Analytics, you will lead a team accountable for delivering analytically-driven insights to optimize Nike’s Global Demand Planning organization. The role will partner closely with peers within Marketplace Analytics who are supporting advanced analytics and data product delivery teams to ensure that requirements from key stakeholders are informing and helping prioritize the roadmaps of these delivery teams. You will apply various data modeling techniques to mine data for the identification of trends that suggest new business opportunities. You will serve as an evangelist for the power of predictive/ prescriptive analysis. You will think broadly and creatively about the role of analytics at Nike and about how your work can be used to inspire the broader organization.Overall, we are looking for someone who has an excellent business acumen with an in-depth knowledge of merchandise planning. The candidate needs to be highly critical thinking and have extensive technical and project ownership experience. You must be a self-starter, flexible thinker, and outstanding communicator who is comfortable learning quickly and connecting the dots between disparate methodologies. You will need those skills as you work across multiple functions and geographies within Nike’s matrixed organization. Results will depend on your ability to quickly form both professional and personal relationships with colleagues and drive to rigorous, actionable, user-friendly deliverablesQualifications•Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Statistics or a related field (an additional 2 years of experience in lieu of a degree). MS/MBA preferred.•Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience with an emphasis on business reporting and analytics required. •Excellent technical and analytical skillset desired. Proficient in data wrangling and cleansing, optimization, simulation, and statistical analysis•Demonstrated ability to sift through data, identify critical information, develop hypotheses, apply relevant techniques, and perform rigorous analyses quickly and consistently •Experience, interest, and adaptability to working in a exciting, ambiguous environment•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to communicate complex concepts to senior and business audiences•Excellent project ownership experience managing multiple project streams and delivering results across cross-functional teams. Propensity for thinking through projects in a process-oriented manner•Experienced professional in Excel and SQL as well as familiarity with R, SAS, or Python. Comfortable in Cognos. Tableau and familiarity with big data environments is preferred, but not required.•Demonstrated ability to learn new resources quickly and be self-guided•Demonstrated ability to use data to impact decision making. •Ability to develop meaningful partnerships across a multi-layered organization required•Experience in developing an understanding of customers, competitors and retail trends; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market preferred•Familiarity with Nike product types and how they are marketed and distributed to accounts is energetically preferred NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
