DescriptionAs a Flyknit Associate Engineer, you will be located at Nike’s World HQs in Beaverton, Oregon. You will be a key member of the Knit Product Creation (KPC) team and will provide engineering support for Flyknit through footwear development. This includes: data collection and analysis, jig cutting and modifications, and technical documentation.Responsibilities include: Partner with Flyknit programmers/engineers to create footwear that delivers product performance and aesthetics
Work with multi-disciplinary footwear teams including innovation, product creation, and manufacturing
Create patterns, templates, and jigs
Perform engineering studies and analyze process data to develop refined product specifications throughout the development phase
Drive priorities of tasks in support of the category teams
Communicate effectively and timely to all stakeholders
Collaborates when opportunities for improvement are discussed
Elevates issues when general troubleshooting is not effective
Learn about and work to support Flyknit engineering best practices
This role requires you to perform well in a fast paced, matrix organization and to be a successful collaborator, keeping your partners up to date. In addition, you should have the capacity to operate independently with minimal guidance and take responsibility for forward movement of your work.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or a minimum 2 years directly relevant work experience in the knit industry, textiles, soft goods, and/or in process or manufacturing engineering
Base technical skills of engineering, manufacturing, or testing
Excellent critical thinking and data analysis skills
Creative problem solving skills
Foundational project management skills with a capacity to multi-task
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches, and/or 3D digital files
Proficient with 2D CAD tools
Familiar with footwear engineering software Dimensions! - PROCAM preferred
Mechanically inclined and capable of working “hands on” with complex manufacturing machines
Experience with 2D cutting machinery preferred
