DescriptionAs a Manager, Quality Engineering on the Nike Digital Quality team, you’ll find yourself immersed in fast-paced projects crossing a wide range of technologies and experiences. We will ask you to take a strong, consumer-focused view of every deliverable and —through collaboration—your work will influence quality strategies across Nike Digital.As an essential member of the team you’ll find yourself interacting with teams involved in a wide range of technologies and experiences. You’ll work with teams to bring together the pillars of Quality – Functional, Integration, Performance, Security, User Acceptance Testing and Production Validation.You’ll focus on leveraging cross team dependencies and interactions in order to enable groups to develop automated and manual testing solutions in a rapidly evolving ecosystem. Your ability to create simple solutions to complex problems sets you apart and you take great joy in working with people who expect excellence, thrive in ambiguity, and understand that the only real constant is change. You are comfortable with tracking down the information you need, whether through diving into Confluence, researching through the web or searching out the right individuals to talk to.Because our world changes daily, you’ll need to be flexible and adaptable, passionately pragmatic, sincerely savvy and a world-class diplomat capable of negotiation, reinvention, and smart compromise.You may also be required to:Engage Product, Program, Engineering, and Design teams to design test strategies, influence unit and integration testing conducted by engineering teams, and compose test plans for automated, manual, and performance tests executed by Quality teams for targeted mobile experiences
Develop, modify, apply, and maintain standards for software quality operating methods, processes, systems and procedures
Conduct software inspection, testing, verification, and validation which results in the reduction of defects released into production, improves app store ratings, and enhances consumer experience
Train and motivate teams of peers, engineers, or others to execute on the test plans and strategies that you define
Review software design, change specifications, and plans against process requirements
Support Site Reliability and engineering teams with problem triage and resolution
Perform or direct verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability
Participate in bug scrubs and prioritization sessions
Develop metrics and reports to share with cross-functional teams and Nike leadership
Regularly update peers, stakeholders, and leaders on goals, key performance indicators, and outcomes
QualificationsWhat we’re looking for:10 years’ experience in Quality functions across QA to Management
5+ years leading technical project teams (QA, Testing or Development)
Experience troubleshooting Java web applications & services
Experience troubleshooting mobile applications & services
Experience with web development technologies: XML, JSON, REST API or similar preferred
Experience with Test Data Management (TDM) and the importance in relation to automated testing
Experience with Analysis and Modeling tools such as Splunk and New Relic
B.S. in Computer Science; 5 yrs of industry experience in lieu of degree
