DescriptionNike Global Technology is looking for a Technical Product Director within the Product Creation landscape to define and drive the vision, strategy and roadmap to reset the foundation required to enable digital product creation. As part of Product Creation Technology, you will be a key contributor into a multi-pronged Nike Digital Product Creation transformation that crosses many functions from design to our manufacturing partners. Responsibilities:Accountable for co-creating and evolving the product creation strategy and roadmap to deliver a data foundation for digital product and enable future digital product capabilities
Partner with cross functional teams to facilitate and develop plans against strategy and roadmap to define scope and key deliverables/ activities
Lead a team and serve as a key liaison between business/ operations teams and technology teams
Lead and facilitate teams responsible for gathering business use cases and business insights to inform solution evaluation and direction
Advise and guide high level solution evaluation and strategies
Ownership and accountability for product and/or capability solutions from intake to support
Partner with enterprise and solution architecture to provide input into long term and transition technology strategies based on business priorities and roadmap
Partner with operations and portfolio teams to encourage scope definition and governance
Partner with operations and portfolio teams to align Product Management best practices for within Product Creation (and Global Technology)
Partner and coordinate with engineering management to forecast skills and resource needs for delivery
Continue to stay informed of internal and external business and technical trends. Apply insights and trends where relevant
Business Acumen & Domain Knowledge
5+ years working in retail, footwear and apparel industry
Preferred experience in an internal or external consulting role within the footwear and apparel industry and working in an operations role
Deep understanding of product creation (materials/ color, design, development, sourcing, costing) processes, trends and strategies
Understanding of current industry trends in digital product and product lifecycle management
Understanding of how different product strategies contribute to overall business models in footwear and apparel
Understanding of how product creation fits within the broader eco-system of an organization, particularly the intersection points with Line Planning, Merchandising, Supply & Demand Planning, Sourcing and Manufacturing
Technical Acumen
Understanding and experience with product lifecycle management applications (FlexPLM preferred)
Experience delivering large scale technology solutions in an agile environment
Functional and foundational understanding of cloud based architecture
Understanding of DevOps principles to achieve speed and quality with a customer focus
Leadership and Soft Skills
Experience working cross functionally in a large matrixed organization
Outstanding leadership and coaching skills to lead functional teams and large cross-functional scope - emphasis on leading and coaching dotted line resources and peers
Comfortable working across many functions and levels directly and daily including business users, business leaders, technology leaders, architects and engineers
Ability to evolve with new information - take in new insights from the business or technology and assess + incorporate into solutions and strategy
A desire to create connections and guide
Ability to guide complexity by facilitating deconstruction of problems(s) into actionable / measurable objectives and/ or scope
Comfort and ability in navigating the unknown - choosing the appropriate steps and resource required to gain clarity and identify next steps
Excellent oral and written communication skills including meeting facilitation and making persuasive presentations to senior leadership - ability to simplify and tailor messaging to the audience
Product Management
Passion and interest in product creation and corresponding solutions
Problem and customer focused mindset
Experience in developing and /or coaching requirements gathering and user insight analysis
Experience in generating and managing a living roadmap
Experience supporting scoping, planning and priortization sessions (higher than a story level)
Demonstrated ability to facilitate trade off conversations and impact peers and leadership on the technology and business side
Experience in provide scope oversight and priority from intake through support
Willingness to understand technical solutions
