DescriptionThe Senior Director for Editorial & Experiences is part of the Global Employee Communications team. The core focus of this Senior Director role will be to lead and drive an editorial and experience communications strategy globally to connect and engage with NIKE, Inc. employees around the world.The Senior Director of Editorial and Experiences Communications is responsible for the following:Creating and executing a strategic communications plan to engage and inspire employees through experiences including leveraging athletes, brand activations, product launches, executive events and through a myriad of other creative and compelling ideas and strategies.Lead and drive content for Nike’s intranet and the future of the channel including driving a meaningful editorial strategy, particularly digitally, a personalization strategy and the creation of engaging, inspiring and fresh content. Create strong content map and digital engagement model for Nike employees as it relates to content on the Intranet to help them do their best work, get the right information and be connected to and inspired by the Brand and its leaders. Be a senior member of the Digital Employee Experience working team who is creating the future of the Intranet. Play a key role in shaping the UX and overall experience including exploring and activating new channels (podcasts, vlogs, social media etc.).Lead, drive and inspire diverse, global communications team including leading a Creative Team (three graphic designers), a team of writers/editors and editorial and experience leaders to create Nike only experiences for employees and content for the Intranet and for other global employee communications channels.The person in this role should have thorough experience in senior level communications and strategy, leading a team, digital channel management and social media, managing complex information, media relations, significant technology experience including managing/creating/leading intranets and content creation, strategic message development and excellent writing skills. This role requires a very seasoned communicator with deep multi-channel experience.QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related discipline
15+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations, extensive experience in corporate and employee communications
2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree
Experience leading communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships
On the ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera
Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape
Successful experience in working effectively at a senior level with a proven ability to help provide guidance and direction to peers
Ability to Travel, 20%
Preferred:Professional experience with a focus on intranets, employee experiences and diverse channels of content creation (podcasts, emails, video magazines)
Experience working on high profile consumer brands
Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures
Experience initiating and driving the ideation process and contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage
