DescriptionHuman Resources (HR) Communications is part of the Global Employee Communications team and creates and drives communications for Nike’s HR strategies around the world. The core focus of this senior role will be to lead and drive a strategy to engage and inspire employees and drive a key people and culture narrative for Nike.The Senior Director of HR Communications will be responsible for the following:Create a strategic communications vision for the HR organization and key strategic communications deliverables for HR across the NIKE, Inc. enterprise, including how to connect, communicate with and engage all employees through HR’s strategic functions (Total Rewards, Talent & Org Effectiveness, Talent Acquisition, Diversity & Inclusion, HR Service & Operations, Employee Relations). In the business, the vision will come to life in how HR shows up for and supports various functions: Marketplace, Converse, Global Operations, Strategic Function and Categories, Design, Product and Merchandising.Create an employee and external communications strategy for HR to connect with all NIKE, Inc. employees, as well as a communications strategy to connect HR with HR. Lead and drive tactical execution of communications strategy with HR Communications team. Work with external partners to drive key narrative and storylines where relevant.Support all communications for NIKE, Inc.’s Chief Human Resources Officer (employee and external) and the HR Leadership Team. Drive employee communications strategies for all HR Vice Presidents to engage and inspire their employees. Create strong narrative for HR and lead strategic storytelling for employees and externally, including driving select media interviews and externally speaking engagements when appropriate. Manage communications strategy and execution for Nike’s employment brand internally and externally across multiple channels. Manage issues as needed across HR portfolio. Continue to build, lead, drive and inspire diverse, global HR communications team. The work will also include when appropriate relevant overall communications support for the team including writing, Q&As, press releases and speech writing.The person in this role should have thorough experience in senior level HR communications and strategy, strategic media relations, leading a team, managing complex information, message and strategy development and excellent writing skills. This role requires a very thorough communicator with deep multi-channel experience and experience building and leading teams.QualificationsBachelor's degree (minimum) in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related field required.
15+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations, extensive experience in employee/internal and corporate communications preferred with a strong focus on HR communications and support for CHRO
Demonstrated ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures.
Experience initiating and driving the ideation process and contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage.
Successful experience in working effectively at a very senior level with a proven ability to help provide guidance and direction to peers.
On the ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera.
Excellent written and spoken English required.
Experience leading communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships including website management and content creation.
Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape.
Experience working on high profile consumer brands is preferred.
