DescriptionAs our MLB Sports Marketing Manager you will ensure that NIKE meets our obligations from a product/service perspective with our partners across Major League Baseball. You will build and maintain key relationships with MLB, its clubs and Fanatics/Majestic. You will provide the best service in the industry and work across the NIKE MLB business and product matrix to deliver superior apparel, service experiences, and relationships to one of NIKE's most important league partnerships. You'll provide real-time information and athlete/club/league insights to the Product organizations to help build and create the best performance baseball product on the market. You are representing Sports Marketing within NIKE’s internal MLB product org including, but not limited to, Gameday operations, delivery orchestration, post-embellishment, financial backend framework, budget management, and all other necessary logistics that accompany the new partnership. You'll work as part of a team and will help keep the department energized, motivated and focused on a single vision. Also, you'll create a positive environment that facilitates personal accountability and teamwork.Primary responsibilities include:Share athlete and MLB League/Club apparel insight with Nike Baseball apparel teammates to help inform the design + development process around MLB uniforms and dugout apparel
Work closely with our licensee Fanatics/Majestic throughout the entire promo manufacturing and clubhouse delivery process to understand timetables, gain visibility to tracking and be part of troubleshooting when necessary
Build and maintain relationships with MLB equipment managers to assist with any Nike-related issues or topics around uniforms and dugout apparel.
Partner with MLB on the utilization of their product credit, including forecasting, post-embellishment and facilitating the service, through Gameday as part of our MLB agreement and any team product credits.
Educate and help support MLB clubs when they want to purchase Nike product for clubhouse needs
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Sports Marketing or related field; advanced degree preferred
7+ years combined marketing, advertising, sports marketing, retail, sales and product marketing experience with a high profile, global brand organization
5+ years' experience working alongside both, Apparel engines as well as College or Pro Equipment Managers & League officials
Extensive NIKE knowledge strongly preferred
Extensive contacts, knowledge of and experience in sports and marketing
Proven ability to develop and drive operational excellence throughout the promo sports marketing process, identifying and adopting best practices to optimize performance
Ability to direct the resolution of business problems and challenges
Experience managing (directly or virtually) diverse teams with potentially competing priorities.
Ability to travel 25% of the time
