The Nike, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. DescriptionEditor, Global Employee Communications The Global Employee Communications Manager / Editor will play a key role in driving our global communication strategy and plan that supports the mission of NIKE, Inc.: to bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world (*If you have a body, you are an athlete). This role is part of the Employee Communications function that engages all employee audiences within NIKE, Inc. The role requires a fast-thinking, strategic digital editor with a deep understanding of analytics and SEO to join the editorial team for Nike’s intranet. The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to deliver new and creative ways of thinking, writing and executing within appropriate internal channels, with the ultimate goal of deepening and evolving Nike’s relationship with our employees — across the global connected workforce, distribution centers and Nike Direct stores. The role is primarily responsible for the content development (creative concepting, editorial planning, coordinating, writing, etc.) and publishing for NIKE, Inc.’s global intranet portal and associated digital channels. The intranet reaches employees around the world to provide useful information, updates on brand initiatives, and engaging stories about the business and teammates. There are popular series, long-form stories, dynamic videos and a calendar of events.Reporting to the Editor in Chief, this role is responsible for driving engagement, conversation and strategic communications within the employee community — primarily through digital channels, such as the intranet and email newsletters. This team member will help us maximize performance on our existing channels while simultaneously helping us to identify new ones to share storytelling with our employees. We’re looking for someone with their finger on the pulse of emerging digital trends and experience bringing a multimedia communication strategy to life through video, podcasts, newsletters, user-generated content, etc. This team member will work with functional and global geographical partners, as well as teammates across all of Nike’s categories, to develop content and coordinate editorial aligned to Global Communications objectives. Examples of work include:•Explore new ways to speak to employees and innovative multimedia platforms to engage them•Work with Editor in Chief to lay out clear editorial strategy aligned with the Global Communications calendar •Work in coordination with Employee Experiences team to develop stories/features for Nike’s internal employee site•Oversee photo and video for Global Employee Communications team and develop new ways to use each in editorial•Work directly with our category communications teams – including Running, Nike Women’s, Basketball, Global Football, Nike Sportswear, Nike Digital, Nike Direct, Global Operations and more – to develop editorial plans and engaging stories•Identify, test and implement employee communications technologies / platforms to facilitate stronger connection across teams (i.e. video, podcast, live streams, collaboration tools)•Implement search optimization strategies to increase traffic•Lead an insights and editorial analytics team to define and execute long-term tracking and insights gathering, and develop regular pacing for recaps•Edit or producing other digital products as needed, including launching a weekly newsletterThe ideal candidate will be brimming with ideas and have a finely tuned antenna for detecting emerging trends. A thorough foundation in writing, editing and content creation is a must — plus experience developing communications across multiple platforms, including web, audio, video, mobile and social media. The role requires someone who can deliver a forward-looking approach to our communications strategies, evolving as the business progresses and proactively adapting to the ever-changing internal environment and communications platform landscape.QualificationsRequired:•Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Business or related discipline•5+ years of editorial experience, either print or digital•Excellent writing, strategic planning and editorial management skills combined with speed, flexibility and attention to detail•Ability to develop communications that engage across multiple platforms (i.e., mobile, intranet, video, long-form features, podcasts, digital newsletters, script writing, presentations, etc.)•Deep understanding of the evolving digital landscape•Strong experience with SEO, digital audience analytics and social media•Collaborative mindset and Preferred:•Knowledge of sports culture, footwear or apparel industry•Experience working with high-profile executives, brand spokespeople and athletes•Communications experience supporting and/or covering globally branded organizations, either in agency or in-house NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
