DescriptionThe Global Operations (GOT) Communications team is part of the Global Communications function. GOT includes the functions of Procurement, WD&C, Demand and Supply Management, Global Technology, Construction Services, Strategic Enterprise Capabilities, Global Operations and Logistics, Global Sourcing and Manufacturing, Sustainability, GOT Finance and Strategy and GOT HR. As our Director of Technology Communications for our Global Operations Team, you will oversee communications for the leader of the global technology organization, Nike’s Chief Digital Information Officer (CDIO). The Global Technology team is responsible for the engineering development of Nike’s app portfolio (NTC, NRC, SNKRS) and ecommerce platforms as well as all enterprise technologies and platforms responsible for Nike’s digital transformation. You'll be responsible for building strategies to communication and engage Nike's Global Technology employees and know how to develop engaging content and deliver messages through video, infographics, and written content with the ability to test and learn from other mediums with the goal to connect with and engage employees. The role will also build external engagement plans that reinforce Nike’s brand as a product and digital innovation company and its consumer direct offense, focused on technology. Responsibilities will include:Developing highly innovative and targeted communications strategies, messages and tactics that engage Global Technology, employees, and positioning Nike as a leading digital innovation brand and help showcase Nike’s Global Technology leaders.
Lead a team to create engaging employee programs to support Global Technology business goals
Develop and deliver a leadership platform for the CDIO
Pro-actively identify external opportunities for the CDIO and other subject matter experts within the Global Technology organization
Support GOT communications events where appropriate
Create plans, track timelines and manage a budget. Manage internal and external approval processes where appropriate
QualificationsRequired:Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, English, Communications or related discipline
10+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or corporate communications and/ or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations
2 additional years of experience required in lieu of a degree
Be deeply familiar with and passionate about technology, and technology trends such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, the Internet of Things and more
Management skills include high-profile communications, strategic planning, budgeting and creative solutions with experience in developing proactive, creative communications and extensive communications strategies
Demonstrated and extensive experience writing and editing for print, multi-media formats and digital social formats
Extensive writing experience
Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures
Demonstrated experience working well in an engineering rich environment with the ability to quickly translate complex systems and capabilities into the language of the business.
Ability to Travel, 10-15%
Preferred:Knowledge of footwear or apparel industry
Experience working on high-profile technology brands
Experience communicating to and working with senior executives to provide strategic counsel, clearly articulate ideas, support differing points of view, and strengthen relationships and rapport
