The Nike, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. DescriptionCategory, Design, Product and Merchandising Communications are part of the Global Communications function which creates and drives employee and external communications.The core focus of this role will be to lead and drive an internal and external communications strategy for the CDPM team to engage and inspire employees across and drive a key narrative for Nike from these key businesses.The Senior Director of CDPM Communications will be responsible for the following:Create a vision for the organization and key strategic deliverables for CDPM across the NIKE, Inc. enterprise, including how to connect and engage all employees within these teams. Create an internal and external communications strategy for CDPM in strong partnership and alignment with key internal partners and stakeholders (CDPM HR, Strategy and Operations) and manage all relevant communications channels and content creation. Lead and drive tactical execution of strategy. Work with key external partners to drive key narrative and storylines as appropriate. Support all communications for NIKE, Inc.’s President of Categories and Product (internal and external).Cultivate internal communications strategies for the President and the CDPM leadership team to engage and inspire their employees through compelling content and relevant storytelling. Create excellent narrative for CDPM and lead storytelling internally and externally, including driving media interviews and externally speaking engagements when appropriate. Manage issues as needed across CDPM portfolio.Lead and drive diverse, global team helping to create an optimized organization and managing a budget as applicable.The work will also include when appropriate relevant overall communications support for the team including writing, Q&As, press releases and speech writing.The person in this role should have strong experience in developing a communications strategy, leading a team, managing complex information, message development and excellent writing skills. This role requires a very strong, senior leader and communicator across a variety of channels.Qualifications· Bachelor's degree (minimum) in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related field required.· 15+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting globally branded organizations, extensive experience in employee communications preferred with a focus on digital· Demonstrated ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures.· Experience initiating and driving the ideation process and contributing meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage.· Successful experience in working effectively at a senior level with a demonstrated ability to help provide guidance and direction to peers.· On the ground media/PR experience with ability to communicate clearly as a company spokesperson both on and off camera.· Excellent written and spoken English required.· Experience leading communications strategy for major events, media outreach and across multiple vendor relationships. · Deep understanding of both evolving consumer communications environment and digital landscape. · Experience working on high profile consumer brands is preferred.· Ability to Travel, 20% NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
