DescriptionAs our Tennis Apparel Designer II, you'll design original tennis apparel product with direction given from design management, utilize design skills to create original, imaginative designs that appropriately reflect Nike's design philosophy. You will focus on Women’s Tier 1 Athlete Apparel. You'll communicate design concepts effectively and present concepts within category team. You'll prepare presentation materials that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences. You'll work with design leadership and category team members in design, development and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price point, merchandising needs and product creation timelines. You'll provide prototype sampling information such as: fabrication, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements, etc. You'll monitor the development of prototype samples and interact with development, pattern making, materials, apparel lab, field testing and the sample room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion of each project. You'll work with the Senior Designer to gain experience, enhance design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes. You'll develop awareness of current trends, color, technology and sports related products through research and travel.QualificationsRequirements for the position include:Bachelor's degree in Design5 years' related experience2 years' additional apparel design experience in lieu of a degreeProven ability to apply and perform design skills such as drawing/sketching, concept ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing/scale, visual presentation development and layout.Demonstrated ability to create market appropriate product designs within set timelinesAbility to understand and incorporate marketing principles to designDemonstrated understanding of pattern making, draping, materials, trims, garment fit/constructionStrong verbal and written communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentationsAbility to understand challenges or underlying concerns, share ideas and develop effective responses or elevate to higher managementAbility to work independently and cooperatively in a diverse group and to network, influence and utilize internal and external resourcesAbility to exercise a high degree of professionalism NIKE, Inc. is a growth company that looks for team members to grow with it.
