Description
The Workplace Design and Connectivity (WD+C) Team is focused on bringing inspiration and innovation to every athlete* in the world, by creating and delivering fully immersive workplace experiences and environments. Our WD+C Americas team is responsible for designing, developing and delivering the workplace spaces, services and experiences for WHQ and our NIKE, Inc. non-retail locations throughout North and Latin America.

The WD+C Americas Business Operations function leads annual strategy development and delivery, performance reporting, business case development for major capital and services investments, as well as facilitates workshops, offsites and large team meetings. As the Business Operations Director you’ll also by responsible for the development and socialization of executive level presentations to inform and garner support for major projects and key future initiatives. This requires an integrated approach involving internal WD+C teams and external partners such as Finance, Procurement, Security, Human Resources and Nike Digital and Technology.

Responsibilities and Duties

Operational Excellence - Elevate and protect Nike’s interests through accountability, sustainability, and efficiency.

!Lead the annual business planning cycle. Ensure the team’s long-term strategic plans, annual operating budget and forecasts support and align with Nike’s corporate strategies. Socialize key tenants to garner buy-in and support.
!Create and update the annual operating plan, reporting cadence, standard team processes and meeting calendar.
!To confirm we’re making solid progress against our strategic objectives, achieving our financial goals and remain focused on the highest priority work; develop informative weekly status updates, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and other presentations which inform senior leadership and our WD+C teams about on-going operations and projects in-flight.
!Prepare and present business cases for significant investments in service contracts, real estate transactions and construction programs; certifying investments align with NIKE’s strategic initiatives and financial goals. In addition, partner with the Business and NIKE finance to build and update the WD+C Americas Appropriations Request (AR) roadmap for all significant investments projected over the next three years.
!When problems arise work to understand root causes. Collaborate with various WD+C teams to propose cross functional solutions with pros/cons and the most likely outcomes outlined for senior leadership to enable well-informed decisions.

Create the Future - Integrate and anticipate business needs, translating them into functional strategies.
!Foster deep connections to understand NIKE’s business unit strategies over the next 3-5 years in order to anticipate and propose workplace solutions. Look for opportunities to create portfolio synergies that leverage NIKE investments through the integrated deliveries of workplace spaces and services.
!Develop a network of thought leaders, both inside and outside NIKE, that provides visibility to emerging workplace trends and innovations. Always “keep eyes open and ears to the ground” for new opportunities, innovations and insights within the company and industry.
!As needed, lead engagements with consulting services to co-create strategic plans to optimize Nike’s portfolio of workplaces; ensuring we have the spaces, services and experiences to enable our employees to do their best work – both now and into the future.


Qualifications
BA/BS in business administration, finance, corporate strategy, or
real estate with 8 years of relevant work experience. Note, one of the
following alternatives may be acceptable: PhD or Law +5 years or MBA +6 years.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams driving
large scale change
Compelling, high-impact storyteller with the ability to
influence at multiple levels throughout the organization
Strong financial and business acumen and strategic problem-solving
skills
Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
Knowledge of construction project management, real estate
portfolio management, and/or urban planning strongly preferred
Expert level skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
and Excel. Experience with Smartsheets a plus.
