About the job



As a Lead Web Application Engineer, your role on the team will include guiding the technical direction on a scrum team of 4-5 developers who build all aspects of consumer experience supporting commerce in the cloud. You will be involved in designing and building services and applications in a continuous delivery model to deliver the Nike commerce cloud solution to consumers. You will also be responsible for the stability, performance, security, reliability and maintainability of a service that underpins all of Nike’s digital commerce and serves millions of consumers every day.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
! Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other relevant
subject area.
! Minimum 7 years of technical experience with at least 2 years guiding a team.
! Experience working in a Distributed/Cloud-based environment (e.g. Amazon EC2, GCE,
Rackspace, Azure, etc.).
! Experience designing and implementing highly scalable web applications.
! Diverse and deep experience in Web Front End development, HTML, CSS, & JavaScript
(React/Redux experience preferred).
! Expertise in designing and creating REST-based micro services, preferably in Node.js.
! Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development.
! Experience working on teams with 24x7 DevOps responsibilities and being on-call for alerts
and outages.
! Experience creating and maintain reusable components and libraries in Javascript and Java.
! Experience guiding multiple projects, both large and small, including consumer web
applications and data integration projects.
! Proven ability to mentor a diverse team of engineers and collaborate with them to deliver
high-quality solutions.
! Ability to work in a complex environment. Self-starter who can work without a lot of
supervision or direction, who is willing to make decisions without checking with others.
! Experience estimating work, planning, organization and implementing complex software
projects.
! Comfortable working in a exciting, goal oriented environment.
! Commitment to and hands-on experience in performing technical code reviews.
! Commitment to quality, stability and reliability of code produced by the team.
! Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively
communicate with both business and technical teams.
! Must have agile experience with applied principles and methods.
! Ability to pass a 7 year background investigation.
