About the Trade team

As a part of the Distribution and Logistics team, the Trade team is responsible for strategic and tactical leadership in the areas of import and export operations and regulatory compliance. We manage and optimize LEAN Trade/Customs process minimizing costs and optimizing Supply Chain lead time while ensuring a high level of compliance with Customs and other government entities.

About the role

At Nike we see our Operations function as a source of competitive advantage. As our Trade Specialist, you'll play a significant role in support of local and global Supply Chain goals and initiatives for Nike’s business. You’ll be responsible for the Trade/Customs process management including external Logistics Service Providers to ensure compliance, minimize costs and optimize Supply Chain lead time. You’ll communicate mainly with Nike Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance, Legal team, Global Trade/Customs Network, Customs Brokers and Local Government Agencies.

In this role, you’ll need knowledge and experience related to Import/Export or Customs Brokerage.

Based in Tokyo, this role will report into the Nike Japan Trade Manager and will require some travel to Nike Headquarters in Portland, Oregon.

Responsibilities:

* Manage and optimize duties, taxes and other related costs.
* Communicate with Nike internal and external parties, e.g.local customs authorities, METI and customs brokers.
* Manage performance of and agreements with customs brokers and LSPs.
* Participate in the global and local logistics and trade and customs activities and related projects.
