As the Greater China Tax & Labor Compliance Manager based at Nike’s office in Shanghai, you will be part of the HR Compliance APAC team, reporting directly to the HR Compliance Director, APAC.

You will be an integral part of the quickly evolving Greater China HR Core Operational Services team, driving an integrated HR agenda for the function and the business. You will play a key role in activating a comprehensive and integrated compliance offense in service of Nike’s strategy across compensation, benefits, retirement and equity programs throughout Greater China. You will draw on your tax and labor law expertise to provide guidance and support for all aspects of tax and labor compliance for Nike HR. Together, the HR Compliance team will create and maintain a proactive, sustainable model of operational risk management across the globe. This role will also have dotted line reporting to the HR Core Operational Services Director in Greater China for seamless integration of functional and operational deliverables.

You'll also coordinate and supervise responses to all tax and labor government inspections and audits and will lead the process through to resolution. In addition, you will identify, provide advice on and address tax and labor compliance risk associated with legislative compliance developments affecting employees and develop strategies to respond to compliance issues. Together, the HR Compliance team will create and maintain a proactive, sustainable model of operational risk management across the globe.

In this role, it will be essential to be a trusted technical advisor to multiple HR functional teams. It will be equally important to develop a deep understanding of Nike internal operating processes and systems to drive compliance initiatives cross-functionally for continuous response to regulatory changes.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Continue to build, enhance and deliver an operating model for HR Compliance in the Greater China region
* Provide governance, guidelines and recommendations on complex tax and labor compliance matters to a wide range of partners
* Continuously monitor legislative developments to ensure internal processes remain current
* Oversight of Mobility tax program including review and accountability for tax return filings and tax equalization calculations, management of tax payments and tax equalization calculation settlements for assignments, trailing income including equity compliance
* Expatriate tax and social security expertise and consultation on complex transactions to assignees and business stakeholders including policy consultation and exception management
* Oversight and management of vendors including adherence to KPIs, engagement terms and invoice management
* Governance of tax technical positions on tax return filings
* Develop trusted relationships across the organization to effectively educate and influence on key risk and control issues
* Utilize your specialized expertise to minimize compliance risks while decreasing administrative burdens where possible
* Anticipate potential roadblocks, identify opportunities for improvement and provide practical approaches to problem solving
* Operate with high levels of organization, lead through ambiguity and offer appropriate solutions that operationalize compliance requirements for the HR functions, lead presentations and present complex technical information in a concise manner to stakeholders.
