WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team in Bangalore. Our leadership team will be looking for this person as one who is deeply involved in the day to day activities of accounting and compliance by prioritizing tasks and working independently .
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
-Drive continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s monthly and quarterly accounting and financial reporting processes.
-Work as part of a dedicated team to ensure key financial assertions are met with respect to Revenue, COGS, SG&A, WAGE, General Ledger and related accounts through development/maintenance of a comprehensive control structure across the transaction stream(s), understanding the processes. Ensure timely and accurate month/quarter-end closing and reporting with P&L and B/S flux analysis and SOX controls related activities.
-Develop, influential, and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and layers of the business particularly around SG&A, General ledgers and Tax.
-Manage, coordinate, and perform financial reporting and internal control processes related to: Lead General Ledger close, Fixed Asset Accounting Review, Lease Accounting Tool Review, Sports Marketing Endorsement Contract Accounting review, and this includes accounting memo preparation and reviews with Controller and SEA&I Regional Controlling team.
-Be a subject matter expert on assigned areas, supporting Internal & External Audit and internal control work.
-Be a leader within the larger NIKE Finance and Controlling Organization to develop, embrace, and create/deliver best practices and new accounting policies.
-Participate in the development of LER2R/SISG&A Controlling’s strategic objectives and proactively set targets / measurable to enable the team’s success in achieving those goals.
-Driver of process improvements through automation, streamlining and best practices to ensure an efficient close process.
-Be a team player and be willing to take on ad-hoc requests.
-Researches financial anomalies and makes corrections as necessary.

Being an integral part of the India Controlling team, you will liaise closely with the various enabling functions and business teams to assess new business processes or arrangements for any financial or controls impacts to ensure compliance with internal finance and accounting policies and procedures. You will work closely with Finance Planning team and the Operations team to enable new business strategies and optimize/enhance accounting processes. You will also partner with cross functional teams including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Tax.
