WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re looking for an APP Localization Specialist, to manage localization quality and copy tone of voice in Japanese. You will do this by obsessing Nike’s copy in Japanese across all consumer touch points, whether localized or locally written. To be successful in this mission, you will need to be a creative linguist with a passion for sport, sneakers, and fashion, and good connection to local culture and trends.

As the APP Localization Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring Nike’s Japanese Athletes* receive the highest quality, most premium experience.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Any given day in this role will be an exciting journey to manage Nike’s brand voice in Japanese by supporting our translation vendors and editors, partnering with local creative and marketing teams to align -and sometimes create- messaging, and collaborate with your Global Language Services team to continuously evolve our program. 1. Oversee the localization QC process bridging the work of internal Nike stakeholders (global and regional) with our local translation suppliers, and effectively communicate project updates cross-functionally.

2. Help drive quality and consistency across all consumer touch points through implementation of copywriting and localization best practices to ensure a unified Tone of Voice for the Brand, and train suppliers to ensure the highest quality consumer experience for the localization of original content.

3. Review/assess the overall quality and accuracy of Nike Digital Content in Japanese in order to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization; act as an arbiter for any language issues that arise between internal stakeholders and partners/suppliers.

4. Writing content for Nike’s digital channels.

5. Lead/drive reoccurring seasonal initiatives and meetings with the brand teams as well as various other internal stakeholders and our vendors to deliver the most premium experience to Nike Japanese consumers.

6. Constantly share key insights and information on seasonal campaigns, stories, taglines, etc. with suppliers to ensure quality of deliverables, and analyze delivery metrics to identify consumer insights, trends, diagnose issues and reinforce copy and quality standards via glossary, style guide, etc.

7. Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external localization and writing stakeholders and suppliers.

You’ll be working with a global network of likeminded linguists based in our other global key cities. You will be joining an industry leading localization program and become an integral part of the local Tokyo Nike team. You will report to the Nike Direct Digital Commerce Experience Operations Director.
