Key Job Accountabilities
Nike is always looking to uncover new ways to serve our consumers. As our Capability Developer, you will be a key player in the Global Apparel Product Creation Team as we ignite this exciting opportunity to support a long-term strategic vision.
You’ll possess a good understanding of the end to end apparel commercialization process as you manage product developments through sampling cycles, factory visits & collaboration with Nike experts.
You’ll work in partnership with Strategic Sourcing, Technical Development, Materials, Cost Engineering, Product Integrity & Partner Management to identify and deliver product development exercises in advance of the required season to validate factory product capabilities. In addition, you’ll create detailed project summaries for assigned products, processes, and factories; ensuring stake-holders are well informed of sample outcomes, timelines, and probity of success.
You will utilize your digital product creation knowledge related to 3D virtual prototyping in order to provide support to our product creation centers & factory-based manufacturing community. To that end you’ll:
* -Articulate program objectives to factory partners and suppliers using verbal and written communication of a technical nature.
* -Analyze factory product creation capabilities and supporting operations to solve executional challenges to meet product, performance, and business goals.
* -Summarize results to ensure stake-holders are well informed of sample outcomes and probity of success. This includes ensuring that product craftsmanship, cost & manufacturing lead-time scores are captured using internal tools.
* -Support digital product creation tasks as assigned from the Capability Manager.
In this role you’ll need to have an advanced knowledge of the apparel development process from inception through production, including but not limited to pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, embroidery, materials and machinery. You’ll be a seasoned developer and problem solver who also possess a high degree of comfort with ambiguity. Most importantly, you should be very excited about this opportunity to make a significant impact in Nike’s Global Apparel Product Creation Team.
