WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for a Sustainability Manager in our Tokyo office / Distribution Centers. You will serve as a first point-of-contact in the Japan Operations team for ideas, and opportunity identification on our five key impact areas (energy, waste, health & safety, labor, and community) while providing expertise for sustainability projects. Your work will be passionate about waste, energy, and workplace improvements across all sites in Nike Japan's Distribution and Logistics Network. You will own reporting and critical metric monitoring for the network, performing root cause analysis and helping teams identify meaningful solutions. You will facilitate the education of the Purpose offense across all levels of the facility, finding opportunities to embed sustainability in the day-to-day operations.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Your work could involve project-related research, development and creation of Request for Proposals (RFPs), writing appropriation requests, and management of vendor project activity on sustainability improvements from concept to completion. Illustrative projects include: design, develop, and install renewable energy solutions in our Distribution Centers; development of cost savings models to analyze Returns on Investments (ROIs) for potential energy savings or waste reduction projects; partnering with service provides on waste optimization and elimination to meet the changing business needs of our Distribution Centers; submission of regulatory reports
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will lead a team of 3rd party logistics companies that work on sustainability initiatives and collaborate closely with Nike Japan Sustainability ambassador team. You will build deep working relationships with colleagues in other functions across Demand Supply Management (DSM), Procurement, Corporate Service and APLA Operations. You will report to Multi-node Fulfillment Manager.
