Pacific’s Logistics Operations team is responsible for delivering tailored supply chain services to all Nike internal and external customers. Our Vision is to create a Digital-First Supply Chain at scale through phased investments within our strategic operating model, that ensures we keep pace with the consumer. An integral member of the logistics operations team, this role will provide visibility around cost, performance, and process, to execute proactive customer centric solutions.

We are currently recruiting for the role of Outbound Transport Lead - AU, this is a permanent role reporting into the Pacific Transport, Customs/Trade Manager.

This role plays an integral part in sourcing and delivering customer centric solutions within our growing logistics operations space - we are looking for someone to support and drive this growth.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON?

Working within the Transport Operations team, your role will manage the distribution operations across Australia (AU), ensuring the effective execution of our final mile customer delivery.

Your role will play a primary role in managing the daily transport network across AU, through our network of Third-Party Logistics (3PL) service providers and contractors. Your ability to lead discussions and provide direction / clarity to the operational teams will be paramount, as you direct conversations, ensuring that alignment to customer expectation is the primary objective of our transport teams.

In line with chain of responsibility (CoR), you will be an advocate for safety within the workplace, ensuring that Nike obligations and expectations towards CoR are met and executed. You will play a key role in managing our expectations with our 3PL’s in this space.

As the first point of contact for our transport operations team within AU, you will influence through clear direction, and appraise performance accordingly. Your ability to provide clear direction, in facilitating prioritization is a key attribute of your ability to manage the operational considerations which are present within our transport network.

You will lead operational review meetings and play a support role in larger supplier / carrier reviews, in line with our contractor management programs. You will also provide insights into network capability reviews, in determining the right fit partners for our logistical requirements.

You will manage queries as raised by the wider Nike Pacific teams, and source solutions for these through succinct communication with our transport network. You will use analytics and data to drive performance and where needed, accountability with our service partners. You are comfortable delivering difficult messages, but importantly, will also provide positive enforcement when duties are carried out well.

You will help to facilitate control management against our key compliance controls, namely around supporting auditing actions within our Distribution Centre’s (DC). You will have autonomy to manage auditing activities in line with these control requirements, to ensure Nike Pacific’s ongoing compliance in this space.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH?

This role has a wide breadth of touchpoints. You will report to the Transport, Customs / Trade Manager - Pacific and work closely with the Pacific Logistics team. Working cross-functionally and collaborating with our DC Operations team, you will provide key perspectives from our transport network, to ensure we successfully activate our final mile customer distribution.

You will have numerous touchpoints into our Pacific Operations team, namely though our Marketplace Operations, Technology and Supply Chain Innovation channels.

You will engage with our Demand and Supply Management team, to support capacity planning discussions and work closely with our Finance teams to support adjustments of inventory, forecasting and accrual precision.

You will link in closely with our geography partners, predominantly based in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A, to support performance and cost reporting, as well as driving best practice through shared learnings. Externally, you will be a key leader in supporting supplier relationships, namely through our network of transport carriers and contracted suppliers.
