JOB MISSION:
As a member of the NBCyberSecure team, the Sr Security Engineer Threat Detection will possess an interest in understanding threats and risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of New Balance data.
The key responsibilities for this role are to:
1.Identify, implement, and operate tools needed to collect and manage security events
2. Identify the source of threats to the organization and gather the needed information to monitor these threats.
3. Communicate with management and users related to security threat
The Senior Security Engineer Threat Detection at New Balance is responsible for implementing and maintaining systems to detect security threats.
They will work as part of the NBCyberSecure team reporting to the Information Security Leader in North America. Other responsibilities will include assistance in the day-to-day operations of New Balance security operations globally.
As a Sr Security Engineer Threat Detection, they will provide support throughout the global security operations of New Balance. Our current worldwide environment is comprised of a multivendor solution covering SIEM, EDR, network security, and other security tools. Their focus will be on maintaining solutions to collect alerts from multiple systems, correlate threat information, and mentoring technical and non technical staff.
They will be comfortable in an environment with flexible work schedules, 24/7 availability, and on-call rotation. They will provide excellent client service while reducing the risk of security incidents.
The person in this role will need to communicate effectively. Prioritize and address critical business needs, related events, and follow industry best practices.
Note: Off-hour support and travel may be required up to 10% to Boston for team meetings, trainings etc..
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
! Cyber threat and vulnerability tool engineering
! Security event collection
! Security information correlation
! Strong communication skills
! Must be proactive and customer service focused
! Provide excellent client orientated services to internal and external entities of New Balance
! Recommend enhancements to New Balance’s applications and systems to ensure secure operation
! Research and simulate in the lab, new technologies including upgrades of existing solutions
! Maintain knowledge of security technologies, products, and services
! Visit vendors, trade shows, and seminars to further acquire knowledge in security and all various other relevant technologies
! Ability to work independently
! Capable of providing end user guidance on security events such as those related to phishing, malware, ransomware, or multi factor authentication
! Enhances team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.
! Ability to troubleshoot mail flow from external sources, troubleshoot network connectivity, and understand how firewalls function
